When you hear JPA, you think #Java. But what about #Kotlin?
This code looks correct, but a DB-generated ID changes after save() and entities disappear from HashSet/Map. Val and non-null types give false guarantees due to the reflection.
How to avoid it ๐

๐ New Talking Kotlin episode!
@sebi.io chats with Alex Sysoev, author of KotlinX RPC, an experimental but powerful library for building RPC services and clients in Kotlin.

Kotlin coroutines are great. Their core primitive is the suspending function. With a small change in your IDE settings, you can give them a custom color (like a bright green), which makes it easy to spot them at a glance, even when you're looking at a lot of code.

And as a reminder, you can already run the same code on iOS, web (hah) and desktop already. You even get Compose Hot Reload for live tweaking in that last case!

โCompose Multiplatform for iOS: Ready for Production Useโ ๐

Was watching @sebi.io's fantastic video on using Kotlin MCP SDK to control Hue lights (www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwev...) and he mentioned you could also run IntelliJ as MCP server....so used prompt here to build project (using Android Studio in my case) and set office lights to green if successful ๐
All JetBrains AI tools โ including our improved AI Assistant and new coding agent Junie โ are now available within our IDEs under a single subscription and come with a free tier.

Great session today (@zsmb.co was also hosting). Testament to maturity of KMP that related question are getting more detailed each year. Lot of CMP questions this year as well.
Come chat with myself and @pamelaahill.bsky.social about all things Kotlin and Compose Multiplatform! I did this at @androidmakers.bsky.social last year as well and was very cool to hear all the different ways people are using this technology!
@jetbrains.com has joined the chat.
Tried Junie's EAP version with my github.com/iurysza/modu... project.
IMO the sweet spot for these kind of tools are projects with a clear (and narrow) scope. Worked super well so far.
I liked how it was smart enough to figure out how to run tests by itself.
Compile time DI verification with #koin in #kotlin!
The Koin project has grown incredibly over the years. Impressive work ๐๐
Always amazing to see #OSS projects grow with the community, and language. Itโs really marvellous to see what motivated people can accomplish working together. ๐ฅฐ
#Koin Annotations is designed to scale. For example, in a project with 1650 definitions, the compiler generates them in 2.5 seconds and verifies them in 1.7 seconds using #KSP 2 (it can split a too-big definitions file).
Check Compile Safety & Time Logging options.
Junie is such a huge help for quickly getting an implementation of e.g. an API client. For a video, I was implementing smart light control with MCP, and I was able to delegate the REST client entirely to our agent. Fewer mechanical tasks, more focus on the things that matter ๐ youtu.be/jwevCa96Z4Q
๐ฅ๐ฅ Hot Reload for Compose Multiplatform is a game changer for iterating on your UIs โ it allows you to instantly see and โfeelโ the changes you make as you tweak your app!
Give it a try! ๐งต๐
Thereโs nothing I love more than going through an entire login flow in a web app only for it to realize at the very last stage that it wanted to deep link into the app instead. You know, the app thatโs already authenticated. Great stuff.
