It's "Where the hell is Matt?" not "Where the h*ll is Matt?" Stop self-censoring when you don't even need to. You can say the word hell on YouTube and Bluesky. Hell, hell, hell, hell. See? Considering switching to LibreWolf over this.

Reddit is now requiring login to view the old website (old.reddit.com). I don't have an account, won't make one, and don't want to use their new website. Therefore, I will now stop using Reddit and fully transition to forums. I expect my productivity to boost as I'll no longer check Reddit often.

Twitter's character limit for non-subscribed users is 280. A quick length check reveals her tweet is 274 characters. If she were to add "I am" and "There is" as Tories suggest, it would be 288 characters long, which exceeds the limit. She wouldn't be able to post it at all with these corrections.

If you want Peter Kyle anywhere near government, you are on the side of predators. It is as simple as that.

The Guardian and Mirror use the "consent or pay" model where you have to accept all advertising cookies or pay a subscription fee, so I'd recommend using NoScript and blocking cookies for their website in your browser settings if you need to read them.

TRANSLATION: Starmer will require adults to submit their ID to use social media (including YouTube!), despite that until recently, it was considered common sense NOT to give out personal information online. Kids will not be able to watch educational YouTube videos or videos of their hobbies.

Rest in Peace, Chris Rea. Driving Home is truly one of my favourite Christmas songs.

Google is building a giant, dystopian wall around the Android garden. Over the summer they quietly stopped releasing the source code for "Vanilla" Android, slowing GrapheneOS to a halt. Now this. Soon, being able to manage your own files on your own smartphone will be a luxury of the past.

Fuck the show "Big Brother" I am tired of it appearing on my feed. Always that hashtag BB27. I've never been interested in it. I've never watched it in my life, follow no accounts related to it, and have never sought any information about it on this app or liked any posts.

support privacy and encryption? then stop adhering to the UK's anti-encryption Online Safety Act

The thing is, I unironically don't care if the Online Safety Act actually leads to child abuse cases on the internet dropping to 0. I'm sure reading people's minds and arresting those with violent thoughts would reduce murder cases to 0, but I'd still be against it as it is dystopian.

On websites like itch.io, this is already being used to block UK users from downloading any 18+ games. Forums have been forced to close down because they cannot afford/lack the technical knowledge required for age checks and their members would riot over such a measure being introduced.

If this act isn't repealed in 20 years time, then I'm leaving this country and never looking back. My sole reason for staying in this country, besides studies, is that I have a slither of hope that people will wake up and oppose the act.

This act effectively gives parents a blank cheque to not parent their children, and although I think the monthly Times articles about 8 year olds showing up to school in nappies or unable to climb stairs are ragebait and crap, we're not far from it becoming reality if we continue like this.

Android appears to have just announced plans to lock down like iPhone. No more writing software, not even on devices you own, without getting permission from Google first. In other words, an Android device will no longer be a device you "own". lethallava.land/notes/abuxw7...

"Yo, surveillance and age checks are swag. I totally dig face scanning. Opponents of the OSA are sussy AF. Peter Kyle is the CEO of drip."

I've realised the Online Safety Act CANNOT be beaten unless we make it a dealbreaker issue in elections. I'm talking refusing to vote for any candidate for MP unless they commit to repealing it, and demanding local/devolved candidates speak against it. #UK #Technology

There are local and devolved Parliament elections next year. This tactic worked for the winter fuel payment. After Labour did badly in the 2025 local elections, they attributed it to the cuts and backtracked. If Labour do badly next year and attribute it to the OSA, they may also change course.

New flags to protest against the Online Safety Act, in the form of the Anarcho-Communist (left) and Anarcho-Capitalist (right) flags.

Luckily I have abruptly moved to the Netherlands in the last few days so I am not affected by the #OnlineSafetyAct ๐Ÿ˜‰

Fuck climate reparations from countries. Citizens shouldn't have to suffer because a cow farted and a despot decided he'd like a new yacht. Reparations from corporations that emit lots of CO2 is best. And they should be distributed to all countries that need it, with checks to prevent corruption.

Update on my game: I'm switching over to OpenGL and going to make it 3D! Unlike SDL, OpenGL does not have any built-in text rendering, so I spent a week making one. #programming #opengl #gamedev
