I gave a talk last week about tech billionaires (we really don't like them) and how to fight them (labour organizing, it's always labour organizing). Come take a 9-minute break from producing shareholder value and watch! Thanks to @thewalrus.ca for inviting me for #WalrusTalks 🍁
Fabric is back Oct 23 and 24
What do we gain through automation and what might we give up? Join 1RG and @withcodesign.bsky.social for Fabric 2026: Choice - Autonomy in an Automated World. 📅 Oct. 23 and 24 📍 1RG A participant-led unconference for the broader tapestry of technologists. 🎟️ luma.com/fabric-2026?...
when @max.computer and I started @1rg.space it wasn't about profit. we just wanted to bring our friends back together. Now it's officially a not-for-profit, and more people can help shape it. It feels weird that 1RG is a little less mine, but I'm so excited to see what we make of it together.

Adults love to talk about the impact of technology on kids, but we so rarely listen to the kids themselves. Next week's Wayfinding event is trying to change that: a panel of teenagers talking about their relationship with technology. Join us on Wednesday

My @thestar.com column: Bike Share Toronto is booming. We’re smashing ridership records. But it’s not enough. The growth still leaves us nowhere close to bike share ridership in Montreal. With better balancing and more infrastructure, I think we can beat them. www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...

I would love a city council that has a real vision for the city. And a federal and provincial government that supports that vision. Maybe one day.
