Luis Sandoval, a 48-year-old from El Salvador, died on Friday at the Folkston ICE facility, owned by the notorious GEO Group. The detention center is already facing scrutiny over poor conditions.

So, this is still going on. If you can evade being caught on-the-scene, it is perfectly legal in New York City to ram someone with a car. The police will treat you, the victim, like you're a pain in the ass.
A pedestrian who was nearly killed by a hit-and-run driver in Midtown this summer only learned later — after weeks of silence — that the NYPD had closed the 'open-and-shut case' without finding the perpetrator. buff.ly/Otq7uXf

One thing people are missing from the new Jim Comey charges. They came 2 days after Aakash Singh was promoted to PADAG. Comey has been arguing that Trump keeps hiring people for the primary purpose to prosecute him, and this is consistent with that. emptywheel.net/2026/10/26/t...

that it's an actual issue that's important. And Republicans are on the right side of it You allow voters to think "Well maybe the Republicans have a point" about all their trans bashing. And in the process you reinforce the false narrative that it's even happening. Lose-lose, for no votes. STOP IT.

based on the sports "issue" WRONG. There ARE NO VOTERS in the persuadable "middle" who are voting based on what they think about "trans issues" Just because they give a "concerned" reply to a poll doesn't mean it matters to their vote. I'm not saying that if you're in the deep south that you...

Someone PLEASE tell Dem candidates that trans-bashing ads are NOT "persuade the available voters" adsm they are BASE MOTIVATORS for the hard right AS SUCH they are aimed at voters that will NEVER BE AVAILABLE TO DEMOCRATS. Consultants will tell you there are voters "in the middle" who vote...

but one they stated clearly, Rufo-style, in broad daylight. They literally TOLD the left what they intended to do, then did it, to great success, and we've got a pack of cowardly spineless Dems STILL saying "well maybe they have a point" And then asking us why we're terrified.

ICYMI, a stunning story. Ingram, Texas, was just rebuilding from a devastating flood when its tiny police department enrolled in ICE’s deportation program. Within a year, cops would hand over the equivalent of 10% of the town. @francescadnunz.bsky.social @mckenziefunk.com

No one is saying Liz Cheney is "the reason" Harris lost. That is a lie, or at best, a composition or nutpicking fallacy. What people are saying is a whole host of choices to pander to mythical Moderate Republican Swing Voters, which mainstream Dems do every cycle, cost them the election.

The first Gen AI ad I saw that showed a use case scenario was a person had to read a screenplay and then didn't, so they trick the person they're meant to do this for into thinking they did. The entire purpose of this technology is to trick people and it turns out no one likes being tricked.
The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

'It’s not just drivers who need guidance. Hagen has advice for his fellow cyclists. He says he tells them, “You need to act, every time you’re on your bike, like you’re an ambassador for the entire bike community.”' Drivers should feel this way yet they don't. Screw them.

WTF is the "passed too close" framing of the headline? "Passing" is going by something without hitting it. He did not pass cyclists, he collided with them. Even if you leave out the intentionality of the crash, he is in trouble for hitting cyclists, not passing them as the headline implies.
