You should go see this!!!! It has an original Decemberists song in it and Charlie Day and Jemaine Clement are in it and incidentally is the most impressive piece of visual art I've ever seen!!!!
‘Wildwood’ had the year’s most-watched trailers, reaching 90M views and surpassing ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’
The film opened to $11M at the domestic box office.
Chris Pratt's Mario does not sound like a guy who could or would go "Whee!" or "Yipee!" He goes "Wah-Hoo!" Once or twice but it always sounds tepid and self-concious. Like he got caught up in a moment and became embarassed for having done so.
Went and saw Wildwood tonight and got kind of emotional about the level of craftmanship on display and the dedication to doing shit the hard and impractical way entirely because it's awesome.
the shot sweeping over the valley as the coyotes march along, all the leaves at the end. A bear dropping a stack of papers that flutter away. All stunning.
The only thing I ever knew the guy for and when you go back and watch the video it's always a shock to see it's like 7 minutes long and completey wears out its welcome by minute 3.
When I was in middle school I drew a series of comics about a character called Stupid Man who didn't really behave notably stupidly but he did get dragon ball z powers and fight an evil villain.
When I was a kid my mom found a folder in my backpack full of comics I drew full of swears and we sat on my bed as she read them out loud to me and said she was disappointed over and over.
I had to switch to a new messaging app on my phone and now have have the ability to "react" to text messages and i feel like I have rolled my eyes at this functionality in the past but I am finding it immediately essential.
Every person on this website who says they've never heard an Ed Sheeran song or heard of the song Choosin' Texas is gonna have sooooo many opinions about what the mainstream US voter actually wants to hear from the Democrats this fall.
Was in the county admin office getting a birth certificate today and saw early voting started yesterday so went ahead and voted; the guy who gave me my ballot said like 300 people voted by 10am on the second day and the way he said it conveyed to me that was abnormally high.
Ezra Klein asked Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang about AI making kids worse at math and reading. Huang’s reply: “Does it matter?”
Then he said he doesn’t know his own address or phone number. “We’re going to lose some fine intellectual dexterity.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/23/o...

The negative reaction to Insomniac's Wolverine feels outsized to me considering it looks like exactly the sort of narrative-focused action adventure game that has been critically beloved for like a decade. It DOES feel like the triple A dev-cycle breaking down definitely to me.
If you can't break into the saturated games as a service space (everyone who wants to play one has one they play) and the big budget action adventure that has been Triple A's bread and butter since like uncharted is flopping what do these guys make?
BREAKING WSJ:
Federal authorities have opened a probe into Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn, Jeffrey Epstein's longtime lawyer and accountant who are now his estate executors, according to people familiar with the matter.
I have to admit that the new Resident Evil somewhat challenges my notion that a conventional zelda plot could not work as a movie. Bryan is alone doing the sort of stuff a Resident Evil protagonist does for most of that movie and it really worked.
cartoons in the early 2000s would be about a kid who's got magic shoelaces that make him run really fast but he'll lose them if anyone finds out and then they have a teacher who's been obsessed with proving magic shoelaces are real his whole life
New bartender at the bowling alley appears too happy to be there, said she's having a great night. The old bartender hated being there and already knew I wanted an ultra.
Moisturizing regularly really has changed my life I kinda thought this was a crock of shit both because I'm stupid and because I would do some lotion every other week and my shit would still be all busted and dry and now it feels very obvious to me that consistency produces results.
When I think about GTAV I think about a time when I was working as a server in a casino restaurant talking to a line cook about the game and going "man Trevor fucking *SUCKS* dude," and I turned around and the marketing manager, Trevor had come in and was all "hey guys-" and never mentioned it but..
I would articulate "slop" as low-quality content produced at volume purely for profit & I think you could ascribe some of these labels to early net content like this but the vast majority of these people were in it for the love of the game with no expectation of profit and i think that boxes it out.
the thing about "slop" that is annoying as a consumer is sifting through it to find something worth engaging with. The idea that you did not respect me enough to produce something of value, the idea that what you put in front of me is immaterial to whether or not I would spend my money / time on it.
Does Kirby just get a lot of games to keep the merchandising engine humming along? It really boggles the mind that this is coming so quickly after Air Riders.
