This is not a happy story. In such a wealthy nation, a ten year old should not be forced to be a caretaker for two elderly relatives, and a brilliant student shouldn't have to beg for charity to get an education. The US was already a failed state long before Trump came along to finish the job.

60 people have now died in ICE custody since Trump's return to office. Our country is set to spend $268 BILLION on mass deportations and detentions through the end of Trump's term. Instead of death and cruelty, imagine what we could have invested that money in instead?
