Hey. Got a sec? I know there’s a LOT going on lately. I’m just as scared as anyone else. But, remember to take breaks and detox. You’re not ignoring anything by doing so. Being safe is important now more than ever. Don’t let the negativity and chaos drain you. It’s how others want you to feel.

I’m alive IΒ swear… It’s been a good while since I had anything to post or write. Last time I made a blog post was *checks* 2024… So anywho, I’m kinda sorta back. I’ve been dealing with a ton of IRL issues that have held me back for some time now. So far I’ve been trying to get back into the swing…

People chose this over a black woman as our president and I will not let any of you live this down. #USPol

Trump: "We're gonna be signing a document today renaming artificial intelligence, because it's not artificial. We're gonna be naming it Super Intelligence. Officially renaming it."

Corporate executives and higher ups embrace GenAI? Gee, whodathunk?

Brian Merchant@bcmerchant.bsky.social

This is, of course, not true across the board. There's one cohort that does overwhelmingly have positive things to say about AI: bosses. People in leadership positions, sales managers, and product managersβ€”along with engineersβ€”are among the few to have positive feelings about AI.

β€œWe don’t care” That’s literally it. That’s this entire administration is three simple words. Can’t get a clearer message out about him and his destructive presidency than that. #WeDontCare #USPol

Lutnick: "If you think I ever said the words 'French' -- do I care about how the Quebecois speak? I mean, what could matter less to America? We don't care."

Spending my 4th of July doing some things I think our Founders would heartily approve of: drinking hard cider at 11am, hassling my elected representatives on a variety of issues, and praying for the deliverance of our nation from a mentally unstable dictator and his plutocratic cronies.

1. I will spare you the details of the rightwing reaction to the Supreme Court's decision this week to uphold birthright citizenship. I will spare you because they are disgusting, especially on America's 250th anniversary.

You know, now that I think about it, the day he kicks the bucket I feel the entirety of the US would gain several IQ points cause they’d never have to listen to this ever again. #USPol

Trump: "I even had a conversation with Theodore Roosevelt. I said, 'What do you think about the Panama Canal? Do you consider that your greatest achievement and how do you feel about the fact that the Democrats gave the Panama Canal away to Panama for $1?'"

Replying to @courtneymilan.com

We do in fact want people who fight back, and that means more than people repeating "kitchen table issues" without really talking about what that means and what they're going to do about it.

They’ll blame declining birth rates on pretty much anything at this point, logic be damned. #USpol

Are smartphones causing people to have fewer children? A provocative new working paper explores the persistent drop in birth rates since the iPhone was introduced nearly two decades ago.

Someone asked me how I can continue to write fiction where people find a way to be better when the world now shows it's not the case. And fella, nothing the fash want you to do more than give up on hope but you really must not. If it's getting too dark to see you don't turn out the lights.

We seriously need a counter for how many of T*ump’s secretaries blame Biden for their problems #USPol

BOYLE: Do you agree with the American people, or are they just wrong? BESSENT: Look, the American people were torched under Biden- BOYLE: Oh my goodness. I wish I had a dollar for every time you bring up Biden's name- I might have as much money as you have. Consumer sentiment is at an all time low

Marco Rubio: β€œWe remain the world's sole global superpower, the most powerful country on Earth. β€œWe have the largest economy, we have the most powerful military ever known to man, our dollar remains the reserve currency of the world. Our language is used extensively throughout the world.” 1/2

Again, my biggest gripe with GenAI, on top of everything else, is that there’s a huge β€œset it and forget it” mentality. Quality? Accuracy? Who cares, look at what our magic prompt button can do! And even if this wasn’t somehow AI, this is a stunningly sloppy job.

The politics equivalent of a player in a PVP game rushing to their death and then asking β€œWhy wasn’t I getting heals?” #USpol

Intelligence Chair Crawford: "It's in our interest to revisit the construct of NATO and say, 'How does this work for us?' Because when we need help from NATO, by and large they aren't there. Whereas when they need our help, we're there to do the heavy lifting, and I think POTUS has recognized that."

#USPol The next Nobel Prize should go to the first journalist to shout: β€œI’m sorry, Mr. President, but with all due respect, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?” Hell, first candidate to do this gets my endorsement.
