Dad went to emergency with a severe headache at around midday. 7pm he has been seen. Good work, Australian government. In other news, they want to plant data centres in towns that are not drought secure. If your tap has ever gone dry, then you know that's what they should be doing something about.

Headlines: Such-and-such technology may someday be as smart as human brains! Reminder: *We already have human brains.* Billions of them. Most of them living in poverty and being exploited for the obscene benefit of a tiny number of the worst people in the world.

Ai prompters- pretended artists & writers- continue to see price increases. This year, Gemini brought in tokens & time limits like claude, & barely used copilot now costs more. If skill & talent are subscription based there's no competition to creatives. No interest in their downgrade offer neither

Writers do more than just write their words themselves. They have a spark of an idea, develop it, outline and refine plot, draft and craft, then line and developmentally edit it, vet illustrators and editors to work with... If you use an LLM 'ai' at any point to any degree, you are NOT my peer.

Pity tombraider legend of atlantis is made with ai and comes with a 'trust me bro, we totally human refine it.' im tired of ai in creative spaces. Will not support anymore. I tolerated ai upscaling in the remasters. I'm just fatigued with it, because it betrays the real talent we could get more of.

Louder for the people at the back! We don't call people carpenters if they only ever assemble stolen flatpacks, or chefs if they only cook by ordering takeaway and then refuse to pay for it. Writing is HARD. It's MEANT to be hard. It's literally the only way to make your brain grow stronger.

I think that’s exactly what the OP is saying. Too many people want to make excuses. There are no excuses. You want to write? Do the work it involves. Yes, even the hard bits. Sit your arse down, engage that brain and *do the leg work*. It doesn’t even have to be good work. It just has to be yours.

"Digitally handmade" is a useful, vital distinction. Collage work of existing images, authored in an image-editing platform (and done within the bounds of fair use) is the actual remix culture. Typing "make me an image in the style of this creator" into a generator trained on unlicensed art is theft

I see the AI Art Is Theft bores are out again. Remixing, referencing, riffing, recombining, that's the entire history of the internet. And of culture, full stop. Clay Shirky documented it exhaustively in Here Comes Everybody. Every meme, fanfic, and parody account operates on exactly this logic ffs.

We cannot live at the expense of others. I have been seeing amazing leveling up of skill and talent so won't be investing in your “just a little ai” work today. There are entirely human made projects. Don't think: “at least I keep my job” - your employer will eventually rid themselves of you.

I wish developers/publishers would realize that no one wants AI generated assets/art/voices in their game...Like how many times is this now that a company made disclosures, and got backlash? Deeply upsetting as I have my OG #TombRaider games and was looking forward to a proper remake for this IP.

Star wars Maul: oil on glass, matte painting, brush strokes... and kiner has got his kids on the score work. The artistry in this series is stunning and impressive. I am excited about the future: Creatives are levelling up their skills with no apology. The trash only made it stronger.

My intellectual and emotional response to reading this is that I want to get a hammer and physically destroy every AI machine on the face of the planet. It is a fundamentally anti-human device and its purveyors are as great a danger to our shared future as any gang of criminals or terrorists

Today is NOT the day Marty McFly arrived in the future but it IS the 40th anniversary of the original Back to the Future which first debuted on July 3, 1985
