Trump’s obsession with demonizing the Somali community is dangerous and reprehensible. Hate to break it to him: Somali Minnesotans are resilient. We will not let Trump intimidate us. Our neighbors have our back.

Trump tries to start a race war: "The once Great State of Minnesota is being taken over by Somali Immigrants ... The Somalians should not be allowed to get away with what they are doing. They view you as weak and stupid people. Fight back Minnesota, fight back!"

It is kind of funny that the circles "guy who would keep a copy of the art of war in his office" and "guy who could benefit from reading the art of war" intersect at a single point and it's pete hegseth

if it took you 5 seconds of contemplation to think of an alternative you should take at least another 5-10 to at least consider the possibility that it at least crossed the minds of 1 or 2 of the people who dedicate their lives and research careers to dealing with the problems we post about on here

The Springfield Ohio bullshit is like, the most pronounced and clear cut example of American moral rot I’ve seen in forever. Literally asking Haitians to come to revitalize your hollowed-out community, and then subjecting them to this racial terror and humiliation after they do? Fucking hell

A caucus of violent, drunk ex-husbands controls three branches of government and both chambers of Congress.

DHS was originally conceived in the interest of unity and harmony — and the phrase "homeland security" was originally meant to be reassuring. n.pr/4nOx8KP

Sorry to be cliché, but I think there are some pretty good parallels between Trump and Nero so having to hold money with his stupid fucking face on it doesn't bother me as much

"This dumb cruel asshole is on the money" yeah that's basically how it's done. Any currency that's shown someone who's not entirely evil is a historical fluke

"it will be felt by each new yorker when they feel that the city they love finally loves them back"

I'm far from the sharpest tool in the shed but I feel like long term, this does not work out well for cops. Like coordinating with all the different departments or precincts is a lot of work and no one in this administration wants to do work. meanwhile ice is just the national force they can send

like maybe all the departments just get folded into ice but that also seems like more administrative work, a frankly impossible amount. so what does a fascist do with force that does not directly answer to him? I just don't think it works out well for them but I have no expertise in the mattter

strange how Caesar beat thousands of gauls only to get stabbed to death by like 40 old men, almost like there's something more to his prior victories I'm not mentioning

I know it’s trendy to hate billionaires, but many didn’t get rich by accident. Jeff Bezos made goods cheaper & quickly accessible. Bill Gates put computers in homes. Sergey Brin gave the world a search engine that works. I could go on. So yes…they should exist.

I did a work module once that used entirely ai generated artwork for about an hour, and when the next module went back to real pictures, I let out such a sigh of relief. Did not realize how bad it sucked just seeing ai slop

So let me get this straight: masks are bad and un-American if worn to fight a pandemic, but good if worn by people claiming to be government agents when they kidnap people off the street

If trump gives a statement, what are the odds he refers to him as "low iq"?

"'This is the first time in modern history that the White House has removed a board member,' said Jeff Guzzetti [a] former FAA and NTSB investigator. … Brown was just over a year into his five-year term on the board." Ah, okay.

In the tradition of really big guys, Fetterman has to show off his glowing red weak point so it's fair for the little guys

My YES vote is *not* an endorsement of this deeply flawed CR. My YES vote is 💯 about refusing to shut our government down. I refuse to punish working families and plunge millions of Americans into chaos.   I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever vote to shut our government down.

I'm sure the Republicans will accept this as a show of good faith and cooperation as well as take the time to moderate their views. In unrelated news, I'm happy to be here at my first rodeo.
