One the craziest things ive just thought about is, ive worked in the restaurant industry for almost 30 years and every single restaurant ive ever work at save 1 has shut down. Including the freaking culinary school I went to! The 1 place thats still open has had severel owners over the years

After yesterday, I will be reminding myself (on and endless loop) of the truth that "The power of the people is greater than the people in power." We are just starting to reclaim our power. It's ours. This is our country. These are our lives. The power lies with us.

Our newest addition. Marlo. Hes a sweet boy and is technically my sister in laws dog but she is unable to have him through no fault of her own. So to keep him in a home and loved we of course said we would take him.

Musk keeps firing us, and with all this free time, we’re organizing America. They call us “paid protesters”—but seriously, where do we sign up for that paycheck? We’re open to those “Soros bucks.” Every day, we spill the tea, knowing retribution is coming.

Update from my last post. We didn't get a few months, we didn't get a few days. Today around 1pm my father in law passed away at home in his recliner watching Walker Texas Ranger. He wouldn't have wanted to go any other way. RIP Master Sargent William Witt

Since Oct 2022, Huston and I have been caring for his dad. We moved in with him full time in Jan 2023. He has dementia and terminal cancer. We uprooted our lives and moved our family into his house so that he wouldn't have to live in a care facility. At first he was treating the cancer to keep

And when we stopped all treatments he was put on hospice. That was last summer. He has been slowly declining and needing more care. We hired the most amazing woman to be his home caregiver. He is her only client and we would be lost without her. In the last 2 weeks he has taken a nose dive and

I fear we may only have a few months left at best. Yesterday he didn't eat anything. Before he went to bed i did get him to eat some jello. Huston has been amazing (stressed af at times) but we wouldn't have done anything different. I only wish his siblings were more active in their dying dad's life

It at bay but when it spread to the soft tissue of his liver the dr informed us that there is no stopping it. And gave him a time line of 1.5 to 2 years depending on if he does some Chemo. He wanted to fight so he did 2 treatments of Chemo and it nearly killed him. We made the decision to stop

If my federal taxes arent going to the things federal taxes fund then why exactly am I paying federal taxes? Shall we throw our tea into the harbor as it were? Cause I'm down for that.

Getting a tooth pulled this afternoon. If I could afford a root canal I would but I don't have $2000 cash. Insurance doesn't cover those, but you know what they do cover? Extraction. So goodbye tooth, it's been real

Last night i was invited to go watch a high school dance team perform their showcase. I went with my daughters dance teacher. It was so fun and the dance group was great.

Nothing like going to your job and 30 minutes in your knife slips and you slice your finger open. ER visit and they do absolutely nothing. Say it's too close to my nail to stitch so they put a fucking bandaid on it and tell me to be careful. Back to work I went

My little fairy waiting in "the winngs" to go on stage. My dancer daughters performed Peter Pan yesterday for a charity event. My oldest was Wendy. This year she is also Clara in The Nutcracker.

Happy Sunday morning bluesky. I'm off to work this morning. I work in a 3 level senior living community. I've been a cook there for almost 15 years. I feel I am institutionalized by now. I day dream of doing something different but to old and scared to start a new path.

Hello Bluesky. First post on this new app. If anyone is seeing this, I am as blue as they come democrat 💙 totally feeling defeated by recent events. I'm scared for my 2 daughters who are 12 and 7. What their future hold as far as health care and education is terrifying.

You are up to date.
