Hi! A couple of new updates were pushed today for the backend. Tests showed no regressions, but please let me know if you experience a problem. <3 If you heard the news about the better-auth vulnerabilities, we don't use any of the vulnerable code areas. You can verify this in our source code.

We don't use "magic link" auth, we secure hash, and we don't use OAuth/social. The vulnerability targeted applications that used "magic link" with default security (we hash instead, so we're more secure) and oauth installations.

I really appreciate all the recommendations lately. Haven't been much to say on this front. Lost my job a few months ago and have been in the hospital lately. The last few months have had their fund goals fully filled, we've been able to keep the service running smoothly. Thanks <3

I’m out of the hospital now, recovering. I appreciate people’s generosity so much. It was very scary but I’m doing better now. We had a couple of bsky outages and service blocks the last few days but everything has been restored now.

Maybe this is more sharable, but here's AgenticAlert. Alerts you if the repo/project uses genAI. Great if you: * Are tired of everyone hyping slop projects * Are tired of genAI in your #recomp / #decomp scene * Are #noAI * Use a browser Protect yourself against AI slop garbage today.

WEBM posts no longer work. They did in the past, but now the BSky PDSes will reject webm blobs unless they go through their video conversion endpoint. I don't know when or why this decision was made, but it's getting frustrating feeling like they're pulling the rug out from underneath me. ugh.

What's annoying is we could support webm on our side but that costs a lot. I'm just more annoyed this happened without any warning or notice. I'm really sorry for anyone that had been uploading their videos as webms. I'm going to have to take down support for the time being until something happens.

MAJOR UPDATE: You can now request to reset your password even if your bsky account handle has changed!! SkyScheduler will remember your last known at:DID and will message you the password reset code properly. If you were previously locked out because your handle changed, this has been resolved.

You will continue to login using your old handle as the username to the dashboard. Obviously, we cannot automatically update your login data to the dashboard, so you'll still have to do that manually. You can update the username used to login via the "Account Settings" screen.

Lastly: There's a clamp on scheduled post dates, you can only schedule out to ~2 years from the current date. This feels fair, but I'll update it further if needed. If you have anything scheduled out further than this, your post should still be honored properly. Thank you for using SkyScheduler!

This is also retroactive for almost all accounts (only 2 accounts could not be resolved). On top of this, previously SkyScheduler also could fail if your handles were not in sync. This is no longer the case. If you forget to update your handle? Your posts will still go live properly.

In order to make genAI look more useful, Github has made their security bot now show an account wide AI flag. Despite the fact that the account is used for many other things, now all usage will carry a genAI label, even if the action in question doesn't use genAI at all. Cool...smh

Getting alerts that bluesky is having issues pushing retweets on some of the eastern PDSes. Seems to be intermittent, you may notice some scheduled retweets may not happen at the correct times. Not much we can do. The service will retry multiple times before giving up.

Okay this is now fixed, we keep a running cache and do comparisons off of that, such that even if names change, we can update them. 🙄

No idea how I'm going to intelligently fix the bug above without doing some weird cache compare shit, but it would break spectacularly when you attempt to edit a post. So I guess there's that.

Accidentally broke scheduling future reposts on as to have yet been posted posts a few days ago. I've properly fixed it just now. The service allowed it, but I made a typo while writing the client code for the feature, which caused an incorrect error message to appear.

Had to add some code to clean up bad facets that occur when usernames change on scheduled posts. I don't know why bluesky generates garbage facet entries on failure, but it does, and posts will be rejected. Posts will succeed now, but mention handles will be blank if they can't be resolved.

github.comMentioning users that change their name can fail a post · Issue #172 · SocksTheWolf/SkySchedulerThis is probably because of Bluesky trying to fix the "non-mention facet pings" exploit. Basically what happens is that the facet pull system will dump blank facets when it can't resolve the did, a...

* You can now schedule up to 40->60 existing external posts as reposts (reminder: there's no repost limit for any content you made through SkyScheduler) * All content can now have 6->10 reposting rules These will go out in definition v14 (clear cache if your sidebar is lower)

Ugh. Some of the code files that I was working on did not properly upload when I pushed them from the train. Worked fine locally, but somehow did not get pushed live. This means a few posts got delayed from their post time. Will all be resolved within the next hour. It shouldn't happen again.

I've been trying to fix the performance and improve the overall code, so things have been a bit more rocky lately. This should be the last of the refactors and cleanup for awhile. If you run into an issue, feel free to DM. As an apology for the stability issues, I'll be doing the following:

Who in the world ships out a completely new rendering system at 3 in the morning? Me. In the last couple of days, I took some time to focus on responsiveness, security and optimization. Dashboard render times are now incredibly quick, without sacrificing any user safety. yay! me sleep now. zzzz

You can now write alt text on video posts. Version 1.9.1 with v11 definitions enables this feature. Posts that have yet to be posted can be edited and have alt text added to them.

Image service seems to be slow again today. If a post goes up that has an image frame but no image in it, bsky is just having some difficulties, the image will appear later.

Oh hey, you may have noticed a few things changed. I’ve improved some stylesheets so things look and respond better. And this just looks better now.

This update also introduced the ability (in the future) to have additional schedule timing options. So instead of every hour, there is the possibility of doing every 30min or other intervals. This feature isn’t live, but would likely start with more flexible repost times. Post intervals later?

Couple of little updates: * SkyScheduler will tell you what timezone it thinks you are in (this pulls from your browser) * Post truncation has been turned off. It should be now easier to find posts after they are posted. * Added better context handling. In theory, this could support i18n features

Just pushed something that will allow for SkyScheduler to try to handle more photos.

Bluesky@bsky.app

v1.123 is live! You can now attach up to 10 photos in posts. We listened to your feedback and redesigned the photo carousel. It only appears for posts with at least 5 photos. Swipe through to learn more.

This change does not bump the visible application version number, but if you still get a 4 image limit, you may need to refresh a couple times. The client config is at v9 now.

SkyScheduler will not have support for 300MB videos as this releases. Most of this is due to the unreliability of the bluesky video ingest pipeline. We’ll be looking into methods to add support for bigger video sizes but it will probably take some time. Thank you for your patience! <3

Bluesky@bsky.app

Pssst: We bumped the video upload limit from 100MB to 300MB to make posting bigger videos easier.

We had beta code that would support a more reliable way to upload videos however it wasn’t as secure as I’d personally like so it was never turned on. There were trade offs that made the endeavor kind of awful tbh. We may investigate this method & try to improve it, but it’s at a standstill atm.

Hey what's up 1.8.8 supports standard.site links. These are only done from the link inclusion section. It will not work if you try it via the embed record section. Cheers!

What is Standard.site? Think of it as a file format for publishing longer posts from blogs, news sites…wherever. If you’re using Leaflet, pckt.blog, or Offprint, you’re already using Standard.site! https://standard.site/

This is really good if you use some sort of blog or want to link around to your blog or boost it or idk whatever the hell you need to do. We just want to make sure we support enough of these features so that you can succeed. Use case be damned. <3 Because lmao Buffer still doesn't support this lol
