v1.123 is live! You can now attach up to 10 photos in posts. We listened to your feedback and redesigned the photo carousel. It only appears for posts with at least 5 photos. Swipe through to learn more.

This is the most requested feature from AI's now that AI can generate nude images from three photos of a toddler in a bathrobe image with 10....

It is, but at the same time it has protected people from receiving unsollicited dick pics in DMs, which is refreshing considering what happens on the other main social media 😐

Works poorly on my desktop. I read panel 1, then slide panel 2 to be centered in the view. When I release the mouse, it moves left by itself, and ends up with panel 2 falling off the side. It doesn't seem to be possible to read panel 2 without actively holding it in place.

On a laptop, it's not quite this bad, but it's still OBJECTIVELY worse (and always will be) than having a larger grid of pictures. There is no room for debate on the matter. EITHER disable this for PC, or give us the *OPTION* (preferably the latter) for how to view multi-image posts.

The fact that you have to click and drag on desktop, which means you can end up clicking and opening the picture is a severe oversight still. Just add a fucking arrow button.

i don't know why it's necessary for 5+ pictures either. it's not especially clear at a glance that i'm missing anything, and i can't see what i'm missing without pausing to fiddle with it

Tried all that in wafrn. After a few days users got used to scrolling horizontally. Ive been experimenting a lot with wafrn and I can confirm this is a change for the better

I wouldn't want thumbnails to get even smaller than they already are at 4 though. Side scrolling is a compromise, but I'd gladly take just having longer posts

idk I wouldn't want huge towers of images or thumbnails either I kinda like this balance, if you see a carousel it implies that there are 5+ pics and if you're interested to scroll thru them as a large amount 2x2 grid is perfect, but 2x5? bleugh shrunken 3x3?+1? bleugh stacked 1x10? naw

It's great that you can swipe through the carrousel for a quick overview. When you view them 1 by 1 though, I think it would be an improvement if it looped around automatically. Especially with a lot of photos, I think if people got to the end there's a high chance they would like to see them again.

I'm happy about extending the amount of images! But...I post art and the carousel indicator at the top has a black background with white dots. It sometimes interferes with the image or covers an important detail. Can the background be converted to transparent so there's only a thin frame with dots?

Clickable arrows or buttons to navigate through the carousel would be a huge help - especially on Desktop resolutions. Sometimes I'm navigating the site with only a touchpad. I like the change though! This is good news.

Why doesn’t the carousel work when the picture is clicked. Being able to slide the images would be great on a phone, much better than buttons which block text.

On the phone, the left and right arrows to flip through images always block text, can you redesign those buttons? They're also very small and easy to miss, and when missed they collapse the image. Maybe make the buttons invisible and the entire left and right edges.

This is better than the eqrlier version, I'm appreciating all the longcat versions. But I'm still accidentally switching between feeds when trying to scroll the carousel on mobile, about 25 or 30% of the time I see them.

i think the numbered badge should only display temporarily while you click through photos and disappear after a second or so, and maybe when you hover over them having it constantly displayed on top of the photos, especially now that it has a black background is pretty distracting

Could we please get the ability to FOLLOW A POST (i.e., get notified of its replies)? This seems easy to implement and super useful!

Please, @bsky.app @support.bsky.team, could we have the option to 👉 follow a post 👈 (i.e. receive its replies as notifications) just like we can follow a user? 🙏 It seems both highly logical and super useful (when sbd asks an interesting question). Or is there a workaround that achieves this?

I too miss this feature where you could see when people responded to your repost of an item and you could interact with them immediately.

Hey! This is... not bad, honestly! I would still like to see the ability to edit posts or adding the ability to make polls, but giving the carousel an option for posts with more than 4 images isn't a bad idea. Now maybe work on those polls, please?

- badges aren't showing up in quoted versions of posts, I feel like they should - please disable carousels on desktop because "scroll by dragging the mouse" is not something you do in a PC web browser *ever*. computer has a larger view so having 10 thumbnails at once should be fine there imo

Well, the view on this page is still narrow on desktop (& I DON'T want it widened; it's more readable narrow to me, maybe cuz of my ADHD). And we can learn new tricks. I instinctively click-dragged & it worked. Though yeah, maybe having buttons to click might come more naturally for others.

Needs better mouse access too. Which would be best implemented by doing what the majority of their feedback said, which they supposedly listened to but didn't act on. Give users the option of carousel or grid view when viewing posts.

“We listened to your feedback on the EDIT button and we decided to give you the opportunity to add 10 photos instead of 4”. Nice 🥰
