I've had autonomy withheld from myself for so long that making a decision or following a feeling feels physically bad to me, down to my gut. Even if that decision is simply to trust that my trauma is real. It's a circle. From that lack of autonomy springs the tendency towards self doubt.

A non-comprehensive list of Good™ things to watch for spooky season. ❗Contains especially violent or disturbing content 🍿 Suitable for horror-averse audiences 🔇 Fast and visually engaging enough to be watched with distractions, e.g. on mute in the background at a party

Encouraging individuals to be less careless even in small ways, especially when related to actions that affect our shared ecology, is always seen as an imposition. How do we expect to beat billionaires if we can't even respect the space right outside our door?

Vegetarian menu options that are just as cheap, delicious, healthy, and convenient at all tiers of restaurant as a norm not a gimmick. New traditions in food prep that stop trying to replicate meat and instead show the beauty of the ingredients they're made from.

I think a real victory against the billionaire class would include investing the shared resources in making systems that make carelessness moot. Systems that enable the correct decisions without even needing to think about it.

Neighborhood composting as a utility, not a service. Cheap or free transit with service timing that makes missing a ride inconsequential. And with destinations that make sense with our basic needs. Major metropolitan high speed connections with well considered last mile solutions at the endpoints

being a better person is never a one and done thing. you're better, then you're worse, then you're more better and more worse. the stakes get higher, things get hard, but you have to always care. you are never at the end of your arc, but you can only guide it when you know you're on one.

Perhaps its because diversity and individualism are inherent to artistic expression. Maybe art clashes with fascists need to exert control, push propaganda and declare that the question of the human experience has a correct answer. Maybe because curiosity is a danger to the regime

Maybe because to understand art you have to confront something you dont completely understand with empathy and an open mind. Maybe because you need to think for yourself when looking at art. Maybe because art doesn't automatically agree with party dogma and often expresses uncomfortable truths.
