#NOLATwitter. “Snickyfritz” is a family nickname – a loose translation of “little chatterbox" in German. I'm also descended from one of the Brides of la Baleine, which is like the Mayflower but filled with mostly French sex workers.

I'm excited that this is a fitting use of "I'd like to report a murder" – the paragraph about Republicans alone ...

Today I wrote about Abdul El Sayed's encounter with a Christian fascist named "Tommy," and the fine art of digging up the shameful things fascists bury under their accusations, exposing them for what they are, and then burying their lies in the hole left behind. www.the-reframe.com/taking-our-c...

I got downvoted in one of the Kelly Clarkson Reddit threads for saying that her use of "whilst" was weird. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I believe her side of the story, but since when do Americans type "whilst"?

So this week: -- Stood my ground with a client, with nasty emails from them severing the relationship. -- Edited and formatted 40,000 words in 35 hours for a much kinder client. -- Can see my main job will end EOY before my 20-year anniversary in March. Tech makes no sense now. It's gibberish.

A gorgeous sentence among the horror: "Their trainwreck-laden funhouse mirror of a respectable media company has masqueraded as a purveyor of genuine news and information, enjoying enormous success ... while publishing oceans of trash that would get a real journalist fired immediately."

NEW: Brown Brothers Media is the most successful media company you've never heard of. For years, its success was fueled by AI, fake writers, and fake reporting. When we started asking questions, BBM started mass-deleting content. Somehow, what came next was even worse. futurism.com/artificial-i...

I edited a calendar with AI-generated photo captions. In three captions, the city describing where the photo was taken doesn't exist. It's kind of amazing how the stupidity is contagious! AI just further delivers, like a cough, the stupidity of our leaders and the enshittification of everything.

Maybe we need to start electing rock stars instead of reality show stars. They sure have more courage than our current representatives, even when it's gonna impact them financially and within their industry.

The comment on this post/painting is 🤌🏼. Also, the IG post from our former president is real.

All I can say is that men who are bad at painting pivoting to politics has really done a number on society the last century, and maybe we should invest more in the arts so much so that we can keep bad artists otherwise occupied

This review is spot on. Raygun and Sammy have an odd blend of myopia and naiveté. I'm not sure if it's me being a gym rat, but she was not even remotely training hard enough for any sport. Her defense that women are quick to criticize women is wrong. This is about palpable talent and athleticism.

Yes, but choosing to be like Dolly requires that you either believe in an afterlife reward or care that you are remembered by others as a good person. I doubt that either condition applies to the billionaires.

HELL Kennedy@helenkennedy.com

Dear Elon: there are important lessons in today's headlines if you care to pay attention. cc all the other dipshit billionaires

I unfollowed someone once because she wouldn't stop posting about how behind she was on answering all of her DMs – as if it was a deluge – when that had to be a total delusion based on everything else she'd ever said about herself plus her follower count plus her interactions.

I'm barely on LinkedIn, so I'm shown suggestions and ads more than follows. Today I noticed a total 180 on AI -- posts like, "I've been hired as a writer because they don't want their content to sound like AI." Well well well. So many layoffs, for no good reason at all.

Amazing story. TIL thst the bar exam's existence had racial (racist) motivations.

Mugshots make you look terrible because of the lighting. People who aren't meth addicts take mugshots where they look like meth addicts because EVERYONE looks like a meth addict in that lighting. St. Tammany Parish's mugshots make you look like you have no eyebrows.

The bros were bedazzled by their fantasy assumptions about an unproven technology. After they all crash and their assets are sold for pennies on the dollar, someone is going to make a killing, much like the fiber optics story following the dot-com crash.

I'm anti-AI, so in Nov 2025 I bought a copy of Microsoft Office 2019, which I need to edit. It's the only document software that allows edits with track changes hidden. Then, because I'm not a PC girl, I deleted my Microsoft account. On Thursday, the Office 2019 quit allowing edits or saves. 1/

Update: I have no recourse. When I deleted my Microsoft account, that started a countdown to losing access to Microsoft Office 2019. Microsoft prohibits the creation of new accounts, even with the same personal info, to redeem a purchased license key again. The vendor was awesome and refunded me.

So ... somehow Microsoft continued communicating with my wholly owned copy of Office and revoked my license key because I no longer have a Microsoft account. What does having an account have anything to do with my purchase? The whole point was to buy something that I wouldn't be updating. 2/

After having the World Cup on every day but listening more than watching, I just learned that who I thought was Mary Carillo is actually Stu Holden. Their voices are identical to me. I'd wondered how she had such in-depth soccer knowledge but figured she was just a pro and picked it over Wimbledon.

Omg, where this thread goes! Christopher Guest's part in Stonehenge is my all-time favorite moment of all Tap songs. Even more than Big Bottoms. AND YOU MY LOVE, WON'T YOU TAKE MY HAND ... WE'LL GO BACK IN TIME TO THAT MYSTIC LAND ...

Wow. Big crowds at the the Epstein-Trump memorial festival.

Before AI it was NFTs and before that it was crypto and before that it was subprime loans and before that it was internet commerce.

It. has. always. been. a. scam. AI is the end of the long con a small group of men have been playing through technology for (checking calendar) 30-odd years. They've been fluffed and enabled by a cottage industry that made money both legitimizing their scam and offering access.

I know this is just the least of things (looks around) but boy, I sure would like it if we could ban the phrase "at scale" from business writing. Who has ever been persuaded -- or dare I say inspired -- by the possibility of "innovating at scale"? What a waste of characters.

Yep. See that Gary Marcus Substack about how mathematically impossible this is.

To hold $135 at a generous 30x multiple, SpaceX needs ~$60B of annual net income. Last year it lost $4.9B. So it needs $65B in profit, somehow building out of thin air the profits of Bank of America ($30B) + Exxon ($25B) + Netflix ($11B). For reference, Tesla is a mere $4B. What an opportunity! /9
