Can you be a massive idiot without having at least one parent who is also a massive idiot and also ancestors who are listed as massive idiots in the Domesday Book?

"personnel shortage"

Bloomberg News@bloomberg.com

Russia is stepping up the number of Africans it recruits to counter a personnel shortage in its military and is targeting some of the continent’s most dysfunctional states for manpower. Read more: bloom.bg/4AeYSxd 📷: AFP/Getty Images

👀 Max Kettner @ HSBC, the most reliably upbeat analyst I can think of, is spooked "We've been max OW stocks and max UW sovereign bonds since mid-March. Given the constant narrative bingo we just can't have the same level of conviction any longer. Tactically neutral equities and OW DM sovs"

Since normie non-dweebs are asking for a translation, this is someone who has made a name being startlingly upbeat on markets (and generally right) taking some precautions against a setback and going like

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

Obviously it would be really childish if loads of Oxford students booked out this event and then didn't attend it. I might ping my kids to see if they have friends at Oxford who would agree with that sentiment. It's important not to be childish, even though it's a form of free speech.

Fwiw this includes me (a British citizen but born abroad), my Norwegian midwife partner, and two of my three children. Nice to know that The Times thinks we are undesirable but has watched “helplessly” as we lived in London.

Interesting that he's chill about the AI trade because “the smartest people in the world — who have 99 per cent of their net worth in these companies and have built the most profitable companies in the world — they believe in it.”
