Still alive! Just quiet here- I've been very very busy working on stuff and also things. Next month's a Snoutbreakers gamedev month but expect things to be quiet here for a while still while we work on parts of the game I want to be a surprise.

"Luna 🩷🩵" ~ 🌙~ After such a rough week, we could all do with some comfort characters, so I decided to draw my friend @stolenburrito.bsky.social's beloved Luna as part of our weekly trade: hope you all enjoy it! ^^ 🩷🤍 #art #settlemoon #moon #Luna #fanart #moth #elegant #bug

Wow! Dreams of Aether, for just a buck fifty?! You mean to tell me that for less than the price of a candy bar you can play the best microgame collection ever made?! With art by your favorite artists Giik, Brawlers, Chaoko and Trout? That's amazing! Oh yeah and Rivals 2 is there too

To set some expectations for those of you that've been following Snoutbreakers for a while: We're not doing a new demo for this year's SAGE. Unlike last year, our development cycle didn't line up as neatly and most of what we've been working on for the past year isn't suitable to be put in a demo.

...also, no, the game isn't in development hell or anything like that. This game is just developed part-time in our spare time, as it always has been. We have recently passed the halfway point in terms of the game's art assets, and I expect the second half to go faster than the first.

Of the 13-ish planned fights, 7 have had their art completely finished, including the entire first third of the game. 2 late-game opponents are in blockout phase (art similar to this old sketch from Tonfa's blockout). We've got most of the endgame planned, the midgame to be our focus after.

The 2025 SAGE demo will remain up for those who wish to play it, but do go and give all the other demos people have worked hard on for 2026 a try! Hopefully next year will line up with our dev cycle a little better and we'll be able to do another demo then.

Alright this time Absa will be on-model for sure... KABONG! ...Oh my god you could grind meat on those. Question: do you think one kick could kill me? Follow up question: do you think she would kick me if I asked her?

ITS THE LAST DAY OF THE #KILAFLOW SALE SALE! If ya wanna get the game at 10% off (17.99 USD) then now's your chance! Here's a route that can get you the new costume as well~!

Today's #screenshotsaturday is less a screenshot and more a timelapse showing the making of Coach holding the punching bag from Snoutbreaker's tutorial. A lot of time and skill goes into designing and hand-animating all of our fighters, each one takes a solid two months of work on average.

When a menu has a neat little tween. Or a character has a funny little animation. Somebody out there spent days making that little detail perfect. And when you’re playing a game you’re blasted with like 50 of these little things per minute. Games are so rich with human life! It’s awesome!!!

KilaFlow came out earlier this year, and in addition to the majority of voice acting, I worked on a couple of the songs in-game! since it's bandcamp friday, and I get a cut of album sales, consider checking this out too! @rettjester.bsky.social is amazing 💚💚💚 rettjester.bandcamp.com/album/kilafl...

Once I have it sketched out I time out the frames (in this case, in Gamemaker's sequence editor) and see if there's anywhere that would benefit from more frames or other adjustments, then I do another pass over the whole thing to line and color it.

Others have said as much, but I generally have a neutral/standing pose for a character that I work off of to keep heights and proportions consistent, then I sketch a number of keyframes for the motion I'm trying to convey (generally the most Extreme parts of the motion) and then do inbetweens.

It's been a while since I posted some Snoutbreakers footage! For a (late) #screenshotsaturday this week, have a short clip. Our wizard's magical robe is capable of absorbing hits for them, so wait-and-punish counterattacks won't work well unless you stay on the offensive.

Spent the better part of this evening playing through Jenny the Witch. It's a short, but very neat little action game. Reminded me a lot of Dragon Nest and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Give it a looksee if spectacle fighters are your cuppa tea, it's a treat.

Holy cannoli that's a whole lot of new followers all at once. Hi! Hello! Thanks for following us here at Snoutbreakers! We're generally pretty slow posting here (everyone who contributes to our game does so part-time) but welcome all the same!

I'd post some gameplay videos instead of screenshots but it seems that bsky video uploading is broken right now for some reason :< Oh well! If you wanna see what things look like in motion you'll have to look through my video tab or download the sage2025 demo to see for yourself.

this post has reminded me that Monolith was also shut down in 2025 😔 💔

Tom De Ville@devilligan.bsky.social

At this point you've got to assume that it's a smarter move not to sell your game dev studio to a failing money hungry monolith
