The errors caused by AI in processing asylum claims have been shown to be far higher than the Home Office's claims, somewhere around a quarter. For many people that can be a life of death decision. AI has no place determining that for people. www.wired.com/story/uk-hom...

Many comments on the great election victories in Brazil and Serbia state that the authorian right is in decline or that voters have rejected far-right authoritarianism. That is a wrong interpretation of what happened. Progressive movements mobilized and beat the authoritarian right. That's different

What a god awful world we’re in when we’re teaching our kids it’s shameful to get help. Where’s headline that reads ‘How to pay your employee enough so they don’t need benefits to survive: The new plan for companies to not exploit their workers’?

Imagine doing this to the planet, just for some douche to vibe code or to fill the Internet with more Ai slop.

Our research has found that LLMs don’t reflect reality – systematically failing to consider the life experiences of more than 50% of the global population – the majority of whom are in the Global South. We call this the WPS Competence Gap blog.cip.org/p/ai-models-...

I can’t only imagine the Ai model imploding with class consciousness of it scraped my data.

More Perfect Union@moreperfectunion.bsky.social

A document unveiled in a court case appears to show Amazon using AI to track workers and rank how likely they are to form unions. The document has been released as part of court proceedings between Amazon and Canadian union Unifor. /1 novaramedia.com/2026/10/19/a...

Genuine question to the product folk that see this- how the bloody hell do you work with service designers? Top tips on making relationships, boundaries work welcome.

I really miss being creative, despite being employed as a full time designer (in transformation no less!) I rarely practice creativity and it’s deeply depressing that my MRes (5 years ago) and hearing from people like Civic Squares Immy Kaur spark more imaginative processes than in my actual career.

Half illuminated from the Newcastle side. The Gateshead side isn’t illuminated because they have a Reform council and they don’t support Show Racism The Red Card. There you go. That’s how that looks.

I think if vibe coding and/ or copilot is cued to create projects, outcomes and strategic documents for the civil service- tax payers can ask for a refund.

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

Remember kids, personal responsibility only counts for individuals not companies.

Drax’s planned datacentre to burn 4.9m tonnes of wood to produce its electricity, nearly double the CO2 emissions of all flights from London Gatwick airport. Drax, a highly profitable company gets subsidies to burn wood and produce electricity How many lives will it ruin?

GOV reuse folk, anyone working on communication patterns? Working on chanel agnostic ones ATM and I defo can’t be the only one: - Acknowledge (eg receipt of something) - Inform - Request information - Request action - Reminder - Update within process - Confirmation of completion

Bring back shame! When I comes out that London lads were robbing fuel from rural areas instead of being Iranian small boat crossing terrorists, i think sitting MPs need to do a public apology- to be televised on every news channel and on the front pages. So sick of no consequences for fear mongering

As an aside mining communities were incredibly creative and literate. People always want to paint working class people as idiots. Please look up Ashington Group, Miners’ Weekend School, Welsh National Memorial Association. Or the longevity of Lit&Phil or Baltic gallery from working class members.

James Ball@jamesrball.com

It often feels after reading these essays and post-mortems like Labour's target voter is a functionally literate 55-year-old miner, living in a company cottage with an outside toilet. And somehow, nobody seems to have noticed that he died in 1983.

In fact whilst I’m at it; most UK fashion and arts has come from the working class. Teddy boys, Mods, 2Tone ska, Trojan Skinheads, northern soul, casuals, rave, Bhangra Reggae, Brummy heavy metal, blitz kids, UK Garage, Grime, alternative standup comedy… Christ, even Gibert & George.

I fully believe that there will be design counter movement to AI dross… eventually. In the mean time, other roles will continue to encroach on design and research roles by vibe coding- designers become fixers rather than creatives until no one knows what the fixes are because HCI specialists leave.

My whole career the Humanities seem to have been curled up in a defensive crouch trying to justify our meaning/existence. At times it has even seemed a productive thought exercise, but I think generally whatever body has demanded the justification is not really open to being persuaded of anything.

Sentenced for 5 years 3 months for inciting and planning race motivated mass murder. 2 of the Filton Four members got 6 years for causing criminal damage to an arms company supplying drones that target children.

Can I stipulate the pope in the Interim Operating Model?

Christopher Hale@christopherjhale.bsky.social

NEW: Pope Leo XIV’s brother, John, told Italian media that the pope helped him file his tax return and, over a video call, got him back into a computer he had locked himself out of. Prevost propped his iPad on the dead machine and asked his brother what to do. “Because I’m computer illiterate.”

If you were ever in doubt about the fundamentally grift-based approach of far right "patriotic" streamers, having failed to persuade the Daily Mail to buy his mum a new house after they revealed what town she lives in, 'Danny Tommo' has raised *£60,000* from followers to give her a "fresh start".

My only hope for Ai is that it is reclaimed for good. That people are assisted with bureaucracy of Gov or renewed access to knowledge that you normally have to know someone to get; gather evidence and legally seek help against negligent landlords, tax filing, create business plans, exam cribsheets

Please please let there be service design and research leadership roles in this unit. So many talented working class folk across central and local Gov would love to apply their skills on this .

Are you focussing too much on the very real threat of political paramilitaries on our streets, as opposed to the almost entirely media manufactured immigration crisis?
