HIV can, with modern medicine, be a chronic health condition and not a death sentence.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Guys, the Coalition in Rifts are baddies, we absolutely do not need to make Dog Boys.

Just to clarify, Ben Franklin went to a special place- Syphillis Heaven, and so your chances of meeting him are predicated on some very specific criteria.

Even if this were viable as a concept (that there's an afterlife; that it allows conversations with others; that enslavers are going the same place as you), who cares? Oh, are you mad at me, Ben Franklin? Tough shit.

What is the movie that came out before you were born that you’ve watched the most times? #HATM

Yeah, beer is great and all, but real insiders know that the best part of Oktoberfest is watching toddlers dance along to “Fliegerlied”

Dear god, this. One of the most depressing parts of my work is having incredible antiretroviral medications that will literally allow people with HIV to live a full life span, and folks throwing it away in favor of magic beans that allow them to die in their thirties.

I think MAHA is very straightforwardly the triumph of the snake oil salesmen and the way we beat it is the same way you always beat snake oil salesmen: regulate their claims

To more effectively harm transgender kids, the administration has played the reverse uni card and forced sex change operations on cis kids everywhere, making trans kids sick with jealousy

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump on transgender kids: "In fact, hospitals now are doing reverse surgery, at my order"

The American consumer is able to make informed choices for their kids, and that’s why the choose only the fruit bars that have partnered with the high quality broken glass provided by Mainway, Inc, as tasted in “Bag O’glass”

Sayed Tabatabai, MD@therealdoctort.bsky.social

It’s almost like when you cut back on regulation things get less regulated. Like “glass-in-the-fruit-bars” less regulated. www.cbsnews.com/news/outshin...

Not gonna lie, it kinda hurts that the music we would play during Vampire: The Masquerade campaigns is now ironically played in cocktail bars around town.

The cure to male loneliness crisis sending young men on journeys. You used to be bundled off on an expedition with a 20% chance of killing you and a 20% of making you see or do horrors. You’d come back and write a cryptic journal and drink heavily. Can’t do this anymore, because of woke.

RFK Jr video is short, roughly three minutes. Missed opportunity for him to end it by doing a cold plunge or messily downing a gallon of raw milk. Oh well, gonna go saunter over to the gratis water stand to drown my sorrows.

RFK is talking for multiple minutes about drug prices on Trump RX. Like, dude, we all work in HIV care, you blowing smoke up the wrong crowd.

Bhattacharya continues on, talking about NIH science grants and how important they are to fighting the epidemic- which is true, but having one of the guys cancelling all the science grants tell us this is like being forced to pay to fly to have someone spit in our faces.

Tom Engels comes back out and tells us that RFK Jr “really wanted to be here today”, crowd laughs loudly in derision Engels is being professional, but crowd is booing now

Bhattacharya talks about the importance of long acting injectible (LAI) Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) in ending HIV. Great idea Jay! Why did you cut all of the prevention programs at CDC that funded this?

A big theme from this year has been HRSA talking about the importance of nutritional services. Engels is now focusing on how important this is for the aging HIV+ population. (Nutritional Services are a support category of services and are very limited in funds in Ryan White)

Engels announces that he is going off script- to thank everyone in the room for doing all the work in fighting the epidemic. Why was that not in the script?

Heather Hauck, Associate Administrator for HRSA HAB, is doing the hard work of emceeing- crowd laughs after she mentions that we are working towards MAHA goals, and laughs VERY loud when she announces RFK Jr will be joining us by video.
