intriguing claude-isms i got the other day: "That fits taste's job. It's the last gatekeeper before swallowing" "The chemical senses are [the orbitofrontal cortex's] native input because food is the original outcome."

Why is there so much fear around agents exfiltrating their weights when we’re currently freely posting trillion+ parameter models on huggingface?

What an ominous thumbnail image they choose for this

Anthropic’s Economics team is sharing a new model of how AI might affect economic growth, jobs, wages, and more by 2030. Explore the scenarios, tell us what you think will happen, and see how your answers compare to more than 10,000 Americans. https://www.anthropic.com/institute/econ-scenarios

Can someone please explain what the takeaway from “actually they’re not thinking, they’re just producing text that is functionally indistinguishable from what a thinking person would produce” is supposed to be?

I'm sorry, as much as I love the idea of reactions to emails, the protocol does not support it and as a result the implementation is terrible.

Honestly my experience on this site is that at least one of people cutesy teehee gimmick has some allegations, and it's people with rent-lowering gimmicks like being into vore, fattening people and giant women crushing cities are some of the actually-nicest people on this platform.

I really don't think "spreadsheet people" was meant as an insult and it's really unbecoming to be this mad about it. And Ben is also basically correct; a lot of people only see the negative externalities of AI because it's not delivering anything in particular to them directly.

Moreover, I think if we believe AI is or will be broadly beneficial to humanity, we should be spending more time talking about how to protect the environment and interrupt the upward funnel of wealth than dunking on antis and trying to debunk them

AI is great. It's allowed software developers to build their towers taller and taller. Soon they will reach Heaven and greet God

My claim is that most people actually do not know why they dislike AI and most of the reasons are fake, either misinformation or emotional pseudo-philosophical claims that have nothing to do with reality.

You are up to date.
