Why is it when someone says they "don't follow politics," they always have the worst fucking politics you've ever seen.

David at FOIAball@foiaball.com

Last month, Kirk Herbstreit said he doesn't follow politics or pick sides. Which was nonsense. Just last week, Herbstreit quietly headlined a fundraising dinner for Alabama's second-biggest PAC. The very next day, the PAC sent $155,000 to Tommy Tuberville. www.foiaball.com/p/kirk-herbs...

Also, I’d forgotten by county switched back to fill in the oval with a sharpee ballots. Wonder how much they spent on voting machines that are now just collecting dust.

Oh hey just got another.

Talarico: "If you've seen an attack ad on your TV, that was Elon. If you've gotten lies in your mailbox, that was Elon. If you've received a text message saying scary things about me with scary black and white photos. That was Elon too."

Shit.

Breaking: Mississippi State QB Kamario Taylor is expected to miss the rest of the season, @sethemerson.bsky.social confirms. He's been dealing with a bad toe injury. What a bummer for such a fun player. ESPN first reported.

Seven games of Beck's offense, one chart each. The defense held all 7 opponents to 20 points or fewer. Michigan was favored in the second half of all three losses. Iowa was bad luck. Minnesota and Indiana were on the offense: 7 and 6 points. Game by game 🧵

I always limited myself to the last hour or even 30 minutes of gameday when Lee was there. Now I don’t watch. Having that extra bit of the time in the morning to go get donuts or go for a walk or play games with my kiddo has been great. Pat McAfee improved my quality of life, a new sentence.

Rodger Sherman@rodger.bsky.social

incredible strategic error by Pat McAfee to reveal he is deeply bothered by relatively mild mockery from college students despite a key component of his job being "standing on a stage in front of college students for 3 hours a week"

Have you ever joined a subreddit for people in your situation, and realized it’s a real bad idea because it’s a giant crab bucket of misery? Yeah, I’m gonna unsubscribe.

You know we had to mention ULM’s wild 4th Quarter comeback with a pitchy pitchy woo woo cherry on top touchdown.

It makes me really happy that with all the handwringing about NIL, portal, dumb congressional labor smashing, and the rest of the miscellaneous horseshit, this sport can still deliver a truly idiotic product. Can’t break something that was never meant to work in the first place.

liberty mutual was the only advertiser who stuck with tucker carlson after he said mexicans were "filth" so whatever fantasies you have about torturing the mascot are morally correct

A big piece of metal falling off the back of a pick up truck and hitting the front of my car reminds me that I need to put my dash cam back up. Just glad it didn’t hit the windshield.

Wait the “we’re making weapon dogs” guy is the same as the “we’re making dire wolves” guy? This makes sense.

Hank Green@hankgreen.bsky.social

When I said in my first video about Colossal that they weren't creating Dire Wolves they were doing something much scarier than that...creating an entirely new species of animal that had never existed I REALLY DID NOT EXPECT THIS GUY TO PIVOT TO LIVING WEAPONS.

I will build you all a cootie catcher that says “run the ball in the a gap” and charge you 1/100th of whatever it cost to build bevo lab

I was packing kiddo’s lunch this morning, and I put in some mozzerella cheese. He said he didn’t want it, and I said he should just trade it, then. He has no clue what I was talking about. I guess trading food stopped when schools put allergy rules in place?

This isn’t even a “kids these days” post, because it makes total sense, especially for elementary, when kids may not always be as aware of allergens. I had just never considered it (especially because I never taught elementary).

Ok, storming your opponents’s field and pulling out THEIR goalposts is such an enormous fucking flex. The only next step you could take is salting the earth à la Carthage.

Michael Bischoff@mbishky.bsky.social

I was trying to research to see if BYU fans have ever torn down the goalposts and the only documented time I can find is 1942 when they tore down Utah's goal posts and took them back to Provo where they were cut up and passed out to the band. One piece is still in the museum at BYU.
