I need an app like LinkedIn but instead it's just a feed of farmers updating what's going on at their farms. With pictures.

I have actually managed to find flat conference shoes that are funky and as comfortable as my sneakers!

My eldest is a very good film student who is always being asked to do things for her university. So we've just had the conversation about capability versus capacity. Some things she can, but she won't.

My friend @regularitguy.com and I are constantly talking to IT Pros about how AI is changing their jobs. This slide from an Australian bank highlights how AI has changed incident management for them. Yes, I'll actually miss poking around in logs.

The worst part about travelling is having to decide in advance what you will be wearing. Urgh. And no, apps & photos don't help me.

Why do I always forget that Azure has "My Dashboard" that I can pin stuff to that's important to me? Like when I'm doing demos.

Not now kids, Mum is running traffic generator scripts so her AI demo can log some traffic over the weekend.

9am we're at 103mm (4 inches) and it's raining harder.

It's 8am. We've had 70mm (almost 3 inches) of rain since midnight. It's going to rain for the next 5 days.

We're not an emotionally distant couple on our phones at a cafe on a Sunday morning. We're researching car maintenance apps to see if we should build one ourselves.

Have to smile when software development fixed-price quoting skills circa 2001 are coming in handy again as I write about AI. New tech, same old problems.

When building a slide deck takes a while and I'm context switching, I'll leave myself post-it note shapes for when I pick it up again:

Just realising how a lot of my work is done at the very bottom of my screen and I should adjust my monitor heights accordingly.

Hey @swiftonsecurity.com - Two bucket wash (well 3 if you count the wheels) with, I kid you not, "great barrier thingys". Also you might want to look at Bowden's Own here in Australia just for a laugh at the product names.

One of the hard things about my role is wanting to make new things when I haven't yet finished the other things I said I would build. Argh.

My fav thing about making PowerPoint decks for stage presentations is making the text obnoxiously large so folks don't have to squint.

Procrastination is the best form of productivity. I haven't started the thing I should, but my Inbox is down to 12 emails.

Brain, I know teeth brushing is an awesome time to get ideas but we are not opening up PowerPoint at 9:40pm to play with Morph transitions. Park it.

Oh that was a good workout. Put up my weights for hack squat, lat pulldown and cable row. Next time I'll increase dumbbell bench press. Progress.

One thing I've learnt as a speaker is to catch people's attention immediately. I don't start with "hello, thanks for having me, are you enjoying the event .." The opening line for my next talk just popped into my head. "The title of my talk is the wrong question to be asking."

Sometimes I don't want AI to make my slide deck for me but it's really helpful to say "Design this slide to have eight circle placeholders for photos with a title under each and a description under the title" and for it to just line up all my placeholders. (Copilot in PowerPoint)

Apart from meetings, I've spent most of today making an internal slide deck that I wish existed. My hope is that Copilot will pick it up as a resource if people ask questions about this topic. It's a deck on purpose so people can steal slides if useful for other presentations.

In the "back at the gym" mode where I'm restraining myself and it's a frustrating as heck. But I can't start too heavy. Baby steps are hard.
