Trump is being lobbied by rival foreign policy networks for wars with Venezuela or Iran. Sending troops to Portland obviously plays to a domestic audience of anti-urban conservatives while avoiding the sort of large scale interstate war that he fears going very wrong. #Portland #Venezuela #Iran

Great news: Sales at Pike Place Market were up 7.5% in August too! That's three months of solid data showing the pedestrianization pilot is good for business. Add your ideas for how to keep the momentum going into the fall: actionnetwork.org/letters/pike...

Good news: Sales at Pike Place Market are up 6.5% in July as well! Making the street more of a welcoming place for people to enjoy, sit, and shop seems to be paying off!

Street design in the French Quarter breaks every rule of transportation engineering. This curb radius is about 6', and the gallery columns are about 6" from the street. It's important to study seemingly impossible things & ask "why does this work?" & "are the rules wrong?"

How many people will be killed or severely injured in your city? Up to your elected off., & staff. A person hit by a driver w a car at 30Kph/20mph has under 10% prob. of dying. At 50Kph/30Mph over 80% Enforcing SAFE speed limits is a matter of life or death. NOT a tech or $$ issue; it's POLITICAL.
