Hey, there's good news: Pandora is doing science! Pandora is an exoplanet mission to observe ~20 transiting planets in optical/IR simultaneously, to mitigate the impact of stellar variability on planet atmospheres. The NASA Exoplanet Archive will host the data! science.nasa.gov/missions/pan...

I have such an expertly curated algorithm that I'm seeing posts from Mexican street food restaurants in the US and this is how they're advertising the game tomorrow night. "Good vibes"

And to everyone who is wondering, “how could humans be causing more than 100% of the warming?” — it’s because, according to natural factors, the earth should be cooling right now. So our emissions are offsetting that cooling AND causing all of the observed warming. For more, watch:

trying not to be embarrassed about crying in front of all the science managers 😅 but with so much moon joy today I couldn't help it I don't have enough words to say how proud I am of Kiarre, Amber, and Victor. and so happy to have these role models on a historic lunar flight. onward!!

These are 1 year appointments at NASA Goddard (in Greenbelt Maryland). Besides working on awesome (biased) NASA science, the intention with these roles is to provide folks with research experience (as well as a full time salary) to bolster their resumes for future job/grad school applications. 2/3

There are a handful of positions for different research projects (you have to click on one of the projects and scroll down to see the project descriptions). I will be a co-advisor on project 4, happy to answer questions about it or the program in general. Help me spread the word! 3/3

Because the Moon is tidally locked to the Earth, if you build your habitat on some plot of near-side regolith you can put the little Earth anywhere in the sky you want & it’ll stay there, lazily meandering around just a little as the Moon wobbles in its orbit. A view of Earthset from #Artemis II.

I think each of us in academia knows people in our departments or fields who are horrible people and also know who’s protecting them. These revelations should not be a surprise to any of us.

I'll share this again for 2026 and for any new influx--well over 100 planetary scientists here on Bluesky. Given <waves hands around> they may not necessarily be posting much about planetary science, but that's how it goes. If you're a planetary scientist and want to be on the list, DM me!

Great news 🟢🟡🚇 customers! Starting 12/31 @wmata.com is extending every other Yellow Line train to Greenbelt. That means more MD-DC-VA direct service & north of Mt Vernon Sq will have 4 min peak/6 min off peak service frequency. Continually improving America’s Metro System.
