exploring this idea of guided internet walks great for real-time events but also could record tours that people follow but also can wander on their own and return to it i feel like there must have been prior versions of this idea made. anything come to mind?

thinking a lot about this last space with playhtml.fun & how we can take advantage of existing contextual existence in our normal browsing of the web has anyone mapped out all these different angles of social media trying to think of what the axes are… public vs private global vs contextual?

the most interesting (and under-explored) design spaces to me right now are: "structured" public conversation (meaning scope/locality but still public) flexible spectrum of visibility but usable. Livejournal was the best at this IMO

it's not lost on me how critical it is to be building community-driven social technology in this time, because there's a lot we need - more joy, more connection, more education, more agency, and more privacy. breaking out of the box of "social media" - what are the tools we need in these times?

kurt vonnegut was right but i believe he was wrong about computer people we can make the computer make us feel this way, help us meet people, see people exploring, connecting, creating, etc. everything on the computer is life from someone else

really good research from @newpublic.org ! i think the internet will become more important as an open and connected space as more bots / AI use it we go to our neighborhood shops even though we have amazon we will still browse the web even after you never have to newpublic.org/afterthefeed

newpublic.orgNew_ Public | After the FeedWhat happens after the social media feed? A presentation on the future of conversation, community, and social connection, and how AI will affect the everyday lives of billions.

a nice discussion about use of AI for creative things in my tiktok comments have been too fearful to really share my stance on these things publicly but trying to change that

ok i need your help bluesky rank these in order of how likely you'd be to do it for a website you really liked: 1. write a letter to it 2. leave a link / image from your browsing 3. give a gold star

spencer chang@spencer.place

hmmm

what if you had a shelf on your website where people could leave these links / images from their browsing as a gift for you

spencer chang@spencer.place

all the images i've come across while browsing with wewere.online

this has been fun to browse every once in a while somehow so intimate to see that someone was looking for synonyms to the word "back seat"

PSA Anisota is no longer a Bluesky client, it is an Atmosphere client. You can publish directly to @grain.social + @leaflet.pub / @standard.site among many other things. You can also cast, craft, & share Spells. There's a new way to engage called Post Poetry. + alt text generation. So much more!
