Among all the stuff I did for "They Were Bunkmates: A Marinler Fanzine Volume 3" this is perhaps my most favorite, I had so much fun making this! You can download the zine and donate at dub.sh/marinler26 The proceeds go to actionkivu.org #StarTrek #StarTrekLowerDecks #BeckettMariner #BradBoimler

Finally some good news: 27yrd old Ebro Ahmed saves kids by pulling the brake on a runaway bus in Minnesota. Don't give up faith on humanity just yet.

Seen this story all day today. Every headline says "27 year old Minnesota man..." I have yet to see one with the headline that the man was Somalian. The most maligned and denigrated group in Minnesota www.goodmorningamerica.com/news/story/2...

bsky.app/profile/rufu... * A small asterisk from a readers perspective to any author who needs it; there's always exception to "rules" of writing especially where plot necessity and intended audience is concerned. E.g. If it's relevant to how characters experience events then describe ahead of time.

Re-posting with typo fix and re-boosting this for the US east coast time folks, I moved to Scotland and landed in an unlivable flat, so am offering 15 drm-free books of mine as a thank you for anything you offer as a way to get into a safe living space:

Ways to help authors you love: - Review their books. - Share their posts. - Tell people about their books. - Learn the true name of the universe and manipulate it to make their book a bestseller. - Get your library to order in their books. - Ask local events to book them for appearances.

Not going to p+ just to watch SNW while current situations are ongoing, but I'm hearing vague snippets of exasperation from other Star Trek fans... so in lieu of reviews and at the risk of opening a can of worms: @ Those who are watching it, what the heck is up with SNW to cause this rumbling?

While you should always assume that a turtle will bite while handling them, some species are much less likely to try than others. #WoodTurtles usually do not bite, but every now and then...

DID YOU KNOW that even if you’re not positive if you’ve already ordered one of these, you can just order another? What’s the worst that can happen? You have an extra set of snail facts to give a friend or loved one? You’re on Bluesky; you’re already the type to give people snail facts. No down side

Sarah McAnulty, Ph.D.@sarahmackattack.bsky.social

Alternatively, if you don’t like donating to things, you can pick up this year’s snail facts advent calendar for you and/or some of the kids in your life at squidfacts.net

The little Pacific chorus frog from yesterday when it had had enough of the paparazzi and started to climb away on the blade of grass. #herps 🌿 #wildlifephotography

Unless you're a child, then mega-nerd or not you likely just uncritically enjoy anything remotely involving the thing you're a nerd about. But usually the nerd kid grows up into nerd adulthood and develops a more refined palette between the ages of 15 and 30. Then you're a giga-nerd. :)

I have a personal belief that the more a person is a nerd for something: dinosaurs, The Odyssey, etc, the less likely they are to enjoy a popular entertainment version of that thing.

Happy Disability Pride Month to those who celebrate. You are seen, and you are loved. 🖖🏻🤟🏻

When my 1st thought reading this is: "The F you mean by farewell?!" Guess this is how I found out. :'( RIP Dr Grant

Farewell to the extraordinary Sam Neill. Among his brilliant highlights, we'll remember him for his wonderful social media updates about his farm and his many brilliantly-named animals. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAaK...
