After a speeding semitruck killed his son, Gary Wilburn and his wife spent decades advocating for mandated speed limiters in trucks. DOT proposed a rule to do just that. Then Trump appointees stepped in, killing the proposed regulation.

Reuters has done some really great investigative reporting on the impacts of Trump's retribution campaigns
Reuters reached out to everyone that Trump or his subordinates singled out publicly for retribution, and reviewed hundreds of official orders, directives and public records. The result: the most comprehensive accounting yet of his campaign of payback. www.reuters.com/investigates...

This, it seems, is an early preview of Trump’s lasting political legacy: Republicans are no longer apologizing, nor are they pushing out racist, bigoted allies when they inevitably find themselves embroiled in controversy. trib.al/LiSxg3s

Sahil Lavingia, the programmer enlisted by DOGE, acknowledged flaws in the code. "Mistakes are always made. I would never recommend someone run my code and do what it says. It’s like that ‘Office’ episode where Steve Carell drives into the lake because Google Maps says drive into the lake.”
2/ First, the DOGE AI tool produced glaring mistakes. It often hallucinated the size of contracts, inflating their value. It concluded more than a thousand were each worth $34 million, when in fact some were for as little as $35,000.

I have been hoping Tom would write something to help me understand Trump’s flip flopping “positions” on Putin and the wait is over. Let’s just say it’s not looking good.
Trump is hopeless when it comes to Putin - whom he both fears and admires as the Renfield to Putin's Dracula - but he has no effective national security or defense team around him to pick up the slack and actually run anything like an actual foreign policy. www.theatlantic.com/newsletters/...
