Finally doing a #promosky or whatever the cool kids are calling it. So if you're into any of these things: - Cars/motorsports - Geeking about weather - Amateur photography - Food/cooking - Random musings from an ADHD brain - Anime - Touhou Project And I'm sure there's a few things I left off.

This is the turn my life has taken. Back on September 25th, I was rear-ended fairly hard in my 2017 Toyota Yaris iA. The repair quote from the body shop finally came back at just over $10,000. Or twice what my car is worth under the best of circumstances.

Cinco de Mayo #boydinner. Superfries and a bottled margarita. No salt or proper glass because way too much effort. Not pictured: electrolyte beverage because my 33-year old ass now gets hungover the next day from so much as sniffing a cocktail.

Anything by Styx where Dennis DeYoung hits an obnoxious ear-bleeding high note. "Mr. Roboto" in particular. Aforementioned high note, and it's just so... bad in general. Bad even by their standards.

fuck your desert island disc, I want to know your Guantanamo bay song. what song would the government use to torture you at a Black Site

Where have I been, besides the usual lack of activity here? Just moved from the faceless suburbs into a downtown loft 5 minutes away from my job. Then proceeded to get sick as a dog for a week from the stress and lack of sleep. #moving

The Win11 laptop I bought secondhand this summer kept shitting itself and I initially thought it was because I got it pre-owned. Nope, updates were bricking it. Reverting to Win10 works for now, but Microsoft and all their bullshit have my tech-averse ass seriously considering Linux.

Therapist: May I suggest you take a break? Me: Sure! OK! So. I want to be optimally relaxed. I'd like to maximize how refreshed I feel in the shortest amount of time possible. What's the best tactic? How do I reach peak rest? How do I win resting? Can I min/max my leisure? Therapist: Oh no.

Sprite +Tea review. ...what the hell is this? The initial flavor is mostly Sprite, but quickly turns into a crappy Brisk or Arizona lemon tea left in your car all night. Also, the color of the soda itself and the labeling reminds me of a piss bottle tossed in a truck stop trash bin. 2.5/10. No.

I'm "trying to get the internet to work on an iPod touch" years old.

Bringus Studios@batarong.com

I learned that WiFi and internet were not the same thing at a very young age after trying to connect to any and all open WiFi networks with my iPod touch every time I went out of the house, and not a single one of those assholes would get memebase to load

Also helps that Jean Stothert ignored 90% of Omaha for over a decade, and never repealed the restaurant tax that she initially campaigned on doing. And it wasn't even a close race. John Ewing won by 13 points.

Ari Drennen@aridrennen.bsky.social

Democrats just flipped the Omaha mayor's office with ads like this. The right-wing obsession with genitals is starting to backfire.

Finally tried the new McDonald's chicken strips and the Minecraft meme sauce. Strips - They alright. 6.5/10. Sauce - Hot, but not much flavor other than the spice except for an odd vinegary sourness. Like a Sriracha that went funky. 4/10. #foodreview #BlueskySupperClub

I'm an antisocial bordering on misanthropic recluse who can go months at a time without socializing with people beyond my partner or immediate family. And I have a lot more than 3 friends. Probably more than 15, even. Zucc must be speaking from personal experience.

Drew Harwell@drewharwell.com

Mark Zuckerberg says Meta's chatbots will supplement your real friends: "The average American has fewer than 3 friends ... but has demand for ... 15 friends" (h/t x.com/romanhelmetg...)

I haven't been skeeting lately. Why? Got laid off without warning in February, causing all sorts of mental and financial headaches. I was very fortunate that a former workplace offered me an accounting position, otherwise I'm not sure where I'd be right now. But the headaches aren't over yet.

Thanks to the public domain, I’m putting out a version of Winnie-the-Pooh books that’s word-for-word the same as the originals except instead of “Oh bother” his catchphrase is “Son of a bitch.”

I could really go for some precedented times right about now.

Hate to be millennial about it all but it is just mental that my whole working life has just been a series of recessions and “economic shocks”, underpinned by stagnant wages
