97.2% say AI makes them better at work. Underneath that: quality slipping, stress up, pay flat, "good enough" as the new normal. Where do you feel it most, quality, stress, or pay? #productManagement #ProdMgmt #AI #FutureOfWork virtualpatrick.com/2026/08/01/t...

Today, I found myself caught in the noise once again. I recently read an email about bees, and it’s now the perfect time to start preparing everything for them. This serves as a clear signal to take action. 1/2

The Product Trio is blurring. Everyone thinks they can do your job. They're not wrong. Now what? AI dissolves the walls between PM, design, and engineering. But tools commoditize. The moat is judgment and Product Sense. Don't be fungible. virtualpatrick.com/2026/03/07/t... #productmanagement

Thanks to @spavel.bsky.social , at productpicnic.beehiiv.com/p/the-incred... , I saw an intriguing claim: "the more someone uses AI, the lower quality their outputs become" I am super interested in metacognition so I was hoping it was a metacognition paper and it is! So I read it

productpicnic.beehiiv.comSee what is happening, not what is supposed to happenThe stories we are telling around user research and LLMs have locked us into a doomed framing. Reject the very notion that it is "better than nothing."

Great read, highly recommend! Watch out the cross references too! #productmanagement

The most common strategy for "AI-proofing" your career is to get good at using AI tools. This is futile, because no one is using AI tools to make things that are *good.* The goal is to check the box on the project plan at a predictable pace. To AI-proof your job, get out of the project game.

Ganz starker Podcast, ich habe so viel gelernt, dass ich ihn jetzt das zweite Mal höre. Danke, @claudmajor.bsky.social und @neudenken-podcast.bsky.social für diesen Beitrag! 🙏❤️

Here's my new podcast episode with Tim Herbig, product management coach and author of "Real Progress". Tim thinks too many product teams are making "Alibi Progress" and wants to help teams make real progress by helping them identify where they're getting blocked up.

Recommended read by @spavel.bsky.social productpicnic.beehiiv.com/p/amazon-s-l... So much this: Managing deliverables rather than outcomes — trying to chase certainty of the design process, rather than finding certainty through the design process — will always fail to achieve real impact.

productpicnic.beehiiv.comAmazon's layoffs are driven by something even stupider than AIAndy Jassy wants you to think that velocity can make up for lack of strategy. But "build, measure, learn" only works if you're willing to learn.

Just learned that #Anthropic’s #Claude will use user data for training unless you opt out by September 28, 2025. Wondering if that’s now the new default for AI? I opted out. You might want to check your privacy settings too! #AI #Privacy #DataProtection #Claude #Anthropic

Anyone in #ProductManagement or #Agile have good articles on writing/using #PRDs today? Curious about the current state of the practice: - Do you still use PRDs? - When was the last time? - What’s your take? Open to different contexts and perspectives. #ProductDesign #Lean #AgileProductManagement

Made me smile today. Seems like I‘m in the software industry too long and seen this too often. Root causes could be different. Tech debt is real. Even best engineering skills fail if problem-solution fit is not accomplished. What do you think about that? #productmanagement #prodmgmt

(comic) Temporary fixes, permanent consequences.

Rented a car in Olbia via a 3rd party. Returned it via key drop. Same day, a €115 charge for “new” rear bumper damage. Photos proved it was pre-existing. Seems like a common low-amount scam. Anyone else experienced this? #Drivalia #Italy #Sardegna #Olbia

I’m still wondering about inflation in Europe or if prices are simply getting more expensive. For example, I recently bought a panini with tomato, tuna, and some fresh fruits for takeaway, with 100 grams or less. To my surprise, it cost me approximately 12 Euros. What are your thoughts on this?

Pavel’s blog post is worth reading. It should encourage everyone to consider a more human perspective on AI. #productmanagement

Pavel@spavel.bsky.social

Users hate AI. So tech made it mandatory. Even if you don't use it, it pollutes what you read and how systems make decisions. The computer's hallucinated word is final. And it needs all of your data to do it. In the age of no consent, UX exists to normalized complete acquiescence to surveillance:

If a colleague had the reliability rate of an LLM, they would be fired. If ordinary* software did, it would be uninstalled. LLMs require the chat format, because chat makes us party to the conversation. We insert the meaning ourselves - and hold it to a different standard. It's the mirror effect.

If a human told you things that were correct 80% of the time but claimed, flat out, with absolute confidence, that they were correct 100% of the time, you would dislike them & never trust a word they say. All I'm really suggesting is for people to treat chatbots with that same distrust & antagonism.

I do relate and feel you. Closing MS Teams after the last meeting of the week feels similar when getting another ”quick question“ to talk. #productmanagement #prodmgmt #tgif
