It’s crazy that Claude can build 3D visuals for the anatomy podcast I’m listening to. Everything’s synced with the audio. This is a great podcast called “Dissectible Me” by Sam Webster & Chris Summers. (As I’m not authorized by the author for re-adaptation so this is private for my own learning)

Welp... Got laid off from Podia today. Kinda a lot to process for a Thursday. I'll have something more coherent to say eventually. For now, send Ruby/Rails leads. Or dog pictures.... Both are good.

Went to a streetlifting competition today for just pullup and muscleup. Got this +70kg pull at 62kg BW 🥳 6th UK ranking at my -66kg category as well

With AI agents' development, I'm feeling a dramatic change for my growth path as a software developer. And I think that's something contributing to the industry and Ruby community's anxiety/frustration too. So I wrote a post to capture my thoughts: st0012.dev/2026/10/04/a...

st0012.devThe developer growth path has dramatically changedHow AI agents change our career growth, from less control over our tools to unequal learning opportunities and the cost of learning outside work.

Having built developer tools for half my career (literally!), I decided to build something “useless” this time. Today I’m announcing RubyLens, a gem that turns your Ruby codebase into a galaxy, as either a page or a video! Here’s an example using Discourse:

RDoc 8.0.0 is out now. This is the biggest RDoc release in years, and it brings together a lot of the Ruby documentation work I talked about at RubyKaigi. Also, RDoc now has a logo!

The biggest visible change is type information next to method documentation. RBS signatures now show up in both HTML and `ri`, and Aliki presents method entries as signature cards.

RDoc 8.0.0 also includes a live preview server, Prism-based parser, a refreshed coverage report, many Markdown/cross-reference fixes, and more Aliki polish. The release note has a short overview before the full PR list: github.com/ruby/rdoc/re...

After weeks of work, Ruby’s master documentation now displays rbs signatures! We will release this feature in RDoc 8.0 soon as well. So any projects using rbs (inline or .rbs files) can benefit from it too. Check it on docs.ruby-lang.org/en/master

The Ruby Developer Experience team at Shopify has just launched Rubydex, a building block for indexing and (semantically) querying your Ruby codebases. @vinistock.bsky.social has a write up explaining what it is and how it works here: railsatscale.com/2026-05-12-o...

Really exciting to see Herb being adopted at GitHub! 🌿 Over the past months, the GitHub team has been running Herb across one of the largest Rails codebases out there where Herb helped uncover real issues missed by existing tooling while also providing invaluable feedback. 🙌

Earlier I shared my open source career experience with the Ruby Taiwan community. Now there's an English version. - I don't have a CS degree, never studied abroad, and English isn't my first language - how I picked which projects to contribute to - what I did beyond writing code

RDoc server mode with live reload is almost ready for ruby/ruby. Currently `make html` takes 30-60s and you have to rerun it after every change. With `make html-server`, you get instant live reload. (Just found a bug with page links, but it's getting there) Here is a demo:

🙌

I finally made it, I'm running 3 Claude Code instances in parallel with cctop by @st0012.dev to monitor them. github.com/st0012/cctop The context switching is killing me. But I'm officially an AI developer.

#UkrainianView I remember the news abt this Ukrainians: Mariupol Drama Theater hit. People under the rubble. russians: WE HIT AZOV NAZIS... oh shi. (delete post) Ukronazis hit Theater with civillians!!! global media: Mariupol Drama Theater is destroyed. Both sides blame each other.

Olena Halushka@halushka.bsky.social

As I sit through yet another russian Shahed attack on Kyiv, I'm thinking of one of russia's most horrific crimes — the targeted destruction of the Mariupol Drama Theater four years ago today. That airstrike killed hundreds of innocent people, mostly women and children who had sought shelter there.

Yesterday I released cctop v0.11.0 with a redesign and 4 color schemes! If you want a lightweight macos app to help you monitor Claude Code/opencode sessions with keyboard navigation, give cctop a try: github.com/st0012/cctop

Per @ufuk.dev's request, OpenCode support coming soon!

Stan Lo@st0012.dev

I used Claude Code to build a tool for managing CC sessions. cctop sits in macOS menubar and shows real-time status of every session: idle, working, waiting for input, or waiting for permission. You can then one click jumping to the right VS Code/Cursor window. Link 👇
