@andyburnham.bsky.social @ofcom.bsky.social any chance you could do something about this?
will say it again: the most effective way to curb far right agitators like Lowe, "Tommo" et. al. would be to stop their ability to earn money for it from social media or live streaming. So much of it is grifting for revenue, not attention.

A good day to remind you all that you can spend £5.50 on a 28mm @countbinface.bsky.social model from Troublemaker Games, £3 of which goes to NHS supporting charities Now who is selling some frog faced fiends and a scale model pier for them to fight over? www.troublemakergames.co.uk/product-page...
Genuine question & probably for @chadbourn.bsky.social : if Farage does announce a resignation from public life, how many will that be? I'm pretty sure that he's done at least 3 before...

I think that this is a pretty sensible summary. I am deeply sceptical of the proposed ban (without any enforcement mechanism I feel that its largely the equivalent of shouting at strangers) but I do accept that there could be significant benefits, even it is only patchily implemented.
The social media ban doesn’t have to stop every under 16 from using social media - if it stops most of them using it, and causes those who still do to use it less, that's a big win. 10 responses to common objections to the ban. www.edrith.co.uk/p/social-med...

Think it's part of a broader problem in British politics which is this expectation that nothing bad should or will ever happen to people, which is an admirable and understandable view that parents have of their own children, but you can't run a flourishing society or an economy on that basis.
100% this, also think it becomes a bit of a vicious cycle as teens being treated as little children won't be given the tools to actually grow up properly and at the right time and I mean where does that leave us?

A very interesting thread on the current Trump related oil mess & consequences thereof.
While chatting with some friends, it occurred to me that other people could benefit from a summary understanding of what's going on in the oil and gas markets. Here are some little pictures to give you the big picture. 🧵
