boxd.it/emv3lD Because of the continued radio silence regarding the situation in Korea I have decided not to review TADC: The Last Act. I am also considering cancelling my ticket altogether (I live in a different country where the screening is still happening).

boxd.itA review of The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act (2026)Glitch has decided not to fulfill their contractual obligation to supply the movie to South Korea without any valid reason. The statement they released on Twitter is misleading, vague, and even possib...

#glitchprod made it sound like Korea can't be trusted with their sacred movie, but: * the "raw file" distributor asked for is DCP, a specialist format for film distribution that supports encryption. * Korea's rating board usually doesn't ask for censorship, and certainly no more than Malaysia (1/4)

* Anybody bringing up North Korea in this conversation is a racist, period. They have nothing to do with the current situation and they do not and cannot have influence in this matter. * Glitch never announced their deal in Korea despite having signed the contract. This just shows (3/4)

they might not have been interested in the region in the first place. * The Korean distributor is also a small company and yet they are handling this much more professionally than Glitch. Glitch should better get this sh1t sorted before the court forces their hand. The optics aren't good. (4/4)

or Singapore especially when it comes to queer representation. Also keep in mind this movie was originally for YouTube. * not only is DCP a terrible format to leak since regular people can't even play it, Korea has been entrusted with blockbuster movies and were often given early screening. (2/4)

i've managed to block those who decided to hand-block me (i.e., manually, not through lists). most of them were bigots and/or mass blockers. a handful seemed like a normal account, which i hope was a fat finger, but i blocked them just to be safe.

gonna speak frankly about this: localization, especially good localization that does the players of that respective language right is expensive and time consuming, often prohibitively so. it's one of those asks that so easily gets dismissed as an easy add that they should do, but it's not

Tonight, the President of the United States has launched an unconstitutional war of aggression, dooming another generation to spill their blood for oil, and lay waste to a sovereign nation. I demand that Congress exercise its power, halt this conflict, and impeach this war criminal president.

If you're an American (or from another similar western nation) I cannot stress enough that you should look into the history of the atrocities the USA has committed in South America. This is not new and we cannot let the horrific crimes perpetuated in this nation's name repeat

I didn't expect less from the visuals and animations department, but they still delivered. The free-standing dolphin was weird, but they again managed to incorporate each of the animal's mannerisms into how they act and move. The missing one point is for the lack of wow-factor.

All in all this is the sequel we wanted and deserve. Zootopia series is proving to be a sanctuary from the world around us without being out of touch. For all their faults, Disney has now proven it still has the creative engine. The question now is if it sputters out or it revs on.

Another point was deducted for the overall delivery of the story, the problem of which consists in 2 parts. First, it feels like the story was especially cruel to Nick this time around. The story demanded him to put off his emotions and words for the sake of plot. He deserved to be more assertive.

Second, the entire plot point around Snake's alleged framing was poorly delivered, and the majority of the info comes from Judy simply assuming what has happened. I guess they did it not to clutter the pacing (which was perfect) but they don't let me be the judge and make me take Judy's word for it.

This is a movie that, for the first time in a while for a Disney movie, knows how not to take itself too seriously. The cinema was non-stop laughing at this movie and while I laughed considerably less, they were indeed funny moments. It feels like the creative control is back.

All in all this feels like the return of the Disney Revival era... for both good and bad. They couldn't help but make yet another Disney twist villains that ruined the character. This one is less egregious than the other ones, but still pretty bad, and I had to deduct one point for it.

It is therefore laudable, that Zootopia 2 managed to stay grounded and expand on its premise set out almost 10 years ago. It is still a flawed, half-baked, watered down take on inequality and justice, but the fact that it exists, to this capacity, in current climate, cannot be dismissed.

Disney was stumbling for a while before this movie. Their 100th anniversary movie dull, their sequels half-baked, and live-action remakes overused. Zootopia 2 breaks this trend by at least keeping the essence of what made the original so good alive: the chemistry between Nick and Judy.

Zootopia 1 was born to a world where humanity signed the Paris agreement, the UK was thinking of Brexit, and Trump's presidency was just an aspiration. Zootopia 2 was born when humanity decided the Paris agreement is unattainable, Brexit was complete, and Trump is enjoying his 2nd presidency.

Feels like it should be bigger news that a journalist known for being loud about her investigations into banks/payment processors appears to be getting financially stonewalled by the entire industry unaminously right now.
