US envoy Steve Witkoff met Russian President Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg on Wednesday. During the meeting, Witkoff thanked Putin for being a “humanitarian”. The pair also discussed the conflict in Ukraine, as Donald Trump pushes Kyiv and Moscow to reach a deal to end the war.
