Bolsonaro's loss is not just a loss for Bolsonaro. It's a loss for Trump. For Musk. For Milei. For Netanyahu. For Farage. For Meta and Zuckerberg. For the meat barons, the fossil fuel corporations, and the rest of the neocolonial looters. And it is a massive win for humanity and the living planet.

This is horrific. And unsurprisingly the work of a "conservative" multimillionaire. Other adjectives might include creepy, prurient, dictatorial and abusive, not to mention, of course, transphobic. Once more with feeling: we need to get the money out of politics. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Delighted that Navi Pillay, chair of the UN commission which found Israel guilty of genocide in Gaza, has won the Nobel Peace Prize. Let Trump and Netanyahu splutter and fume: the truth becomes ever harder to deny.

Amazing. Viva Tilcayo!

IPBES@ipbes.net

A new species of felid has been classified, the first in over 100 years. 🐱 The Leopardus tilcayo lives in Bolivia’s Yungas forest ecoregion and is smaller than the average domestic cat, measuring around 46 cm from head to end of body and weighing about 1.4 kg.

As Yom Kippur came to a close this evening, I was privileged to join my friend, Ruth Messinger, at a break fast in her home. It was an honor to celebrate this moment of renewal with many of our Jewish neighbors. May it be a year of justice, joy and peace.

Fantastic. Leonard Baskin loved Orozco.

To me, one of the most touching representations of the Twin Towers before 9/11 is Gabriel Orozco's haunting "Island Within an Island" of 1993, in which the artist constructed a tiny scale model of lower Manhattan using scavenged detritus leaned against a concrete barricade

Rediscovered: the flyer that Andrew Hirst designed and printed for the first Longbarrow event some 20 years ago (the flyer has been languishing in a filing cabinet for 10 of these years). I objected to the sans-serif typeface and uneven justification. Did we actually charge the £1? I don't recall.
