The amount of slop PRs and issues we receive in the Sentry JS SDK repo has increased 10x in the last weeks. Don't even remember reading a human-written issue. Reading and reviewing these is such a pain. I would love to close them all but then fear of missing a legit fix (FOMALF?) strikes.

Nothing annoys me currently more than review bots surfacing only 1-2 findings at a time. I go in, fix them, commit, push. Boom, the next two unrelated findings. I write shitty code. I appreciate the reviews. But don't spoon-feed them to me. I want them all at once.

It's always a pleasure to host the @svelte.at meetup. Great talks, nice people and good vibes :) For @sentry.io it also pays off: We often get direct feedback we'd miss otherwise. Like yesterday, about a Svelte 4 and 5 syntax mixup in our SDK setup wizard. github.com/getsentry/se...

It was a blast yesterday at @svelte.at @sveltesociety.dev We had 42 people show up! Thanks @sentry.io and @stracke.tech for hosting. Great talks by @michaelaufreiter.com @danirukun.bsky.social and Housein :)

Oh... what's this, you ask? Just a benchmark that coincidentally shows how fast SvelteKit is compared to Next.js 🤷‍♂️ How fast, you ask? Just 7-10x. No biggie. Svelte ❤️

Honored & excited! 🎉 Just joined the Svelte maintainers team (cli focus) Big thanks for the peer recognition Let's continue build cool stuff together 🧡 #OSS

Congrats to @gruntled.bsky.social and @svelte.dev for becoming leaders in o11y support in ESM frameworks! Super happy to see what I talked about at Svelte Summit becoming reality. Thanks for letting me help out out a bit along the way! Full @sentry.io support is already WIP and will ship soon!

OpenTelemetry tracing is live in SvelteKit! Huge s/o to @stracke.tech for all the help along the way. SvelteKit can now emit OTEL spans for all of its serverside constructs. It also provides an instrumentation file to easily set up trace exports. svelte.dev/blog/sveltek...

1. Receive issue with reproduction using pnpm 2. Reproduce the issue 3. Change repro to a sane package manager (npm, yarn@1) 4. No longer reproduce issue Happens to us ~once per week. Question is: Is it a Sentry SDK problem? Or is it pnpm? Do I need vacation? Guess which question I can answer

I want an AI assistant that tells me honestly "I don't know" instead of making up garbage to seem all-knowing. AI really shouldn't mimic all human traits :) Don't know the type of this function? Tell me or leave it blank, but don't bs me. That's the only way I'd ever trust these things.

My #sveltesummit talk was published today! I talked about using @opentelemetry.io in SvelteKit apps and what the framework can do to make this a better experience.

Had the honour to talk about tracing with OpenTelemetry at @svelte.dev Summit and what I think meta frameworks like SvelteKit can do to help making this an easy experience for everyone. More than happy to help making this a reality! Kicked off a discussion here: github.com/sveltejs/kit...

got some OpenTelemetry homework from @stracke.tech

Really looking forward to Svelte Summit and meeting lots of Svelte Enthusiasts! Please come say hi at the @sentry.io booth :)

@austria.sveltesociety.dev is going to Barcelona for Svelte summit @ermeen.com @stracke.tech @bitsbysigrid.bsky.social @mxmlnznr.bsky.social Myself Many others will be there 🥰

Had some time to build a little CLI E2E testing utility that can be used with arbitrary test frameworks. All of this is a heavy WIP but what do folks think about this scenario builder approach?

Also, am I missing an already super convenient framework for CLI e2e testing? I'm only aware of `clet` and some homegrown solutions (like the one we currently use at Sentry)

What happens when your SvelteKit app slows down? Lukas Stracke @stracke.tech will show you how to trace bottlenecks with OpenTelemetry—and why it’s trickier than you’d expect. Catch this at Svelte Summit Spring 2025!

GitHub users who open an issue with an actual minimal reproduction in a repository, that I just need to clone to reproduce, should receive a special award. Makes my day every time!

While ESM is awesome, we're still missing a user-friendly approach for observability instrumentation. The ecosystem needs a standard way to instrument ESM modules without friction. I summarized the challenges and potential solutions here: github.com/getsentry/es...

I'm currently hacking around on a larger change in SvelteKit in my free time 👀 Maybe I can tell y'all more about that at Svelte Summit Barcelona :)
