Parenting can be a beautiful, profound journey, but there are moments when it possesses all the grace of having a salad spoon slowly shoved up your nose.

This is clearly motivated by politics, but what the utter fuck is the conceivable end game? Rile up the opposition? Have they not noticed the polling?

Just saw Na Hong-jin’s Hope. Honest review? Act 1: Wow wow wow top 10 monster movie setup OMG these sets; Act 2: Okay, I’ll roll with it; Act 3: WHAT HOW WHY WHO WAAAAAAT. (That said, I’m glad this brand of banana-pants exists, and I’ll take it over Hollywood’s focus-grouped crap every time.)

imagine having to do this forensic investigation on an algae infested paint peeling smelly reflecting pool merely because the president of the united states is a fuckin habitual liar

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Breaking news: The lining of the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool peeled in at least seven places along seams that were created when the material was applied, indicating likely problems in how it was installed, according to experts and a Post analysis.

The five-year-old, while drawing: “Yellow oranges invented lamination in 1990. Then they died out in 1997. You can repeat after me for the song.” (Yes, there was a song.)

It finally happened: Spotted a civilian (i.e., not a ProPublica staffer) on the street wearing one of the ProPublica t-shirts I designed years ago. (I know because I chased them down to ask how they got it… then thanked them for donating.)

Would love to give someone on the Google iOS design team a gentle nudge about optical alignment. This new Drive icon is making my eye twitch. (A triangle at a given height reads smaller than a square, and its visual center isn't its mathematical center. Gotta use your eye.)

The John Roberts Court has done more to reduce the political power of poor people and Black people while enlarging the voting rights of rich people and corporations than has any court since Roger Taney was Chief Justice in the 1800s. I opposed his nomination in 2005, and I stand by that.

Leavitt: "Nobody is recent years has faced more bullets and violence than President Trump. This political violence stems from a systemic demonization of him and his supporters by commentators -- yes -- by elected members of the Democrat Party, and even some in the media."

We have an unhealthy unspoken media agreement in this country that you can’t point out that someone harbors objectively insane, delusional beliefs that should disqualify them from being anywhere near a position of power if said beliefs are colorably linkable to a mainstream religious worldview.

Fun fact: the guy (Hung Cao) who now leads the US Navy claimed that Monterey, California (median home price $1.2M) had been taken over taken over with witchcraft. www.montereycountynow.com/opinion/mcno...

I’m sure future generations will take great comfort in knowing how much time and effort we devoted to telling people which bathroom to use while the planet slowly burned.

Reminder: Congress retains the constitutional authority to stop this careening executive branch dumpster fire any time it wants, pending the highly unlikely growth of a spine.

Woke 2? That’s cute. I’m already on Woke 5. We skipped doing a Woke 4 because of conclusions reached during Woke 3. I was there, for all of it. Awake. Increasingly awake. Frighteningly awake. Always awake. I never sleep. I can’t. There’s no time. Woke 6 is coming.
