New Colossus, same long drives. Looking forward to making a racket again. Starting in Norwich on Thursday.

Hey Colossus@heycolossus.bsky.social

Our first gigs in two years start in Norwich on Thursday (sold out) followed by Newcastle, Lincoln and Nottingham. It would be lovely to see you.

You know what surprises me? That a coat-tail-chasing, talentless hack who sings like a teething baby is somehow still being asked his opinion on anything beyond "salt and vinegar on that?"

4pm is when it is being released to the peasantry. buckle up. surprised it hasn't leaked yet. civil service code coming at the same time, so clearly co-ordinated to mitigate reverse legal chicken. let the lawfare commence.

Sneak peak at the last scheduled album from Wrong Speed in 2026. This one's a split release with the Low Point label and you'll be able to pre-order it from tomorrow around 11am when we'll give you the full details...

I can tell you one violent event he was definitely involved in though.

The Libertines’ debut album Up The Bracket turns 24 today and I was reading a retrospective review of it written in 2025. The writer thinks Pete Doherty took part in the Poll Tax Riots.* They were in 1990. He was 11.

Those legends IRKED are only off to Australia in a few weeks! WHAAAAAAT??? We've repressed their debut album "The Grievance" on pink vinyl to celebrate and it's exclusive to independent retailers. If you run one such retailer then grab copies through Cargo!

Last one of a very busy 2026 for Wrong Speed goes up for pre-order on Friday and is in shops on Nov 20th... (watch this space)

Spent the weekend at Gluesnort fest in Newport. Was immense... I've dropped 60 million stories from it over on IG if you want a gander, Here's a couple of highlights... Skintern Ominous Moon Bloody Head Prior Lucifer Sky Coffin Mulch More Skintern (all 7 of them plus audience all in one pic!!!)

That lad in the tiger enclosure has finished me off. Poor guy. Just thinking that someone's last photo of their dear loved one is them excited at the zoo. Too much.

Reminder - we handle PR for Wrong Speed ourselves. If you want to review releases, play them on the radio or interview artists on the label then get in touch. We're dead nice, honest!

Re-sharing this to say Xam Duo provided the best band promo photo we've had yet - the classic LS6 pre-gig samosa queue captured perfectly by Ernie Duffin! Give the single a go, grab the pre-order from Bandcamp, tell yr mates... xamduo.bandcamp.com/album/53-74-...

You got storyline fever, storyline flu Apparently impairing your point of view It's making horseshit sound true to you Now it’s impacting how you're acting too Now it's impacting how you're acting too

"53-74 Music" delivers a series of miniature worlds to spend time in. Xam Duo have embraced the sounds & signifiers of 80s pop but warped the focus, creating a hazy love letter to a past time that somehow feels like the future It's one of the most singular, engaging records you'll hear this year

The second is "Blunt Synopsis", the new album from Newcastle trio THE LAST PATH (formerly Bad Amputee). This one knocked us off our feet. They're modest and low-key beyond belief but this album is beautiful, it's rawness gets under your skin. FFO: Richard & Linda, Codeine, Low, Lungfish

best work I've done this week happened when I was spinning this three times in a row. it's a tricky customer, very easy to zone off and just let it carry you, only to suddenly arrive to the end of a side. then you flip it and it happens again. some parts reminded me of Diary of Dreams of all things
