got bored and started fooling around with godot's VR capabilities, made this little test scene :] its cool i can do this in a FOSS engine and that it just kinda works right away #GodotEngine

i think this is just being posted because of the game's anniversary from last week ...but if this is a teaser for thrillville / OTR remasters on modern platforms, then count me the FUCK in

This was out of scope for the VHGF photography collection, but I found a bunch of photos I'd taken on my Game Boy Camera. Here's one of me and Todd Howard in his late 20s when I was interning at Bethesda Softworks in summer 99. We played a lot of imported Dreamcast games.

amused that at one point Stern made a pinball machine and, instead of giving it any actual theme or title, just went: "screw it we're calling this one PINBALL we gotta save our creative energy for the other game"

never a good sign when you're trying to contribute to something, see a 3D model stored as raw vertex/normal/UV data, google for how to export my own data in that format, and then every single thread basically says "lol its impossible to export in this way"

just tried virtual desktop for Quest 1 PCVR since i finally managed to get my networking stuff sorted out and ohhhh my god this is so much better than Quest Link this flow chart is gonna need some updating because streaming VR stuff just got noticeably less fiddly

I'm writing a mod in C# and it's reporting a warning on line 3 of a file but the warning is blank for some reason so the "problems" overview just looks like this

havent really posted about it here at all but ive been slowly trying to gold-stake every deck in balatro last night i finally got zodiac deck taken care of, only have a few decks left :]

oh and in case you're wondering... i did not have seance until the final boss blind, i literally only picked it up just so it would get the gold sticker LMAOOOO THAT JOKER SUCKS ASS

havent really posted about it here at all but ive been slowly trying to gold-stake every deck in balatro last night i finally got zodiac deck taken care of, only have a few decks left :]

i think if i had to make a tier list for "best deck for gold stake" id honestly say either ghost deck or abandoned deck being able to reroll for spectrals (seals/immolate/maybe Hex/Ankh early on) is so good that i honestly think it should be made a voucher (maybe the lvl-2 voucher for Illusion?)

reposting this because steve ritchie (pinball legend and black knight & shao khan's VA) just announced he's retiring from the industry godspeed, you legend 🫡

Hi folks-- We're starting on our next indexing project, and we're building our volunteer team! If you have some degree of Japanese fluency and want to help index periodicals for VGHF, hit me up here

Video Game History Foundation@gamehistoryorg.bsky.social

Starting today, we're piloting Japanese magazines in our digital archive! We've spent the last few months upgrading our library infrastructure to support Japanese-language material, starting with the magazine Neo Geo Freak. Read the full blog post for more info: gamehistory.org/5k-magazines/

its really funny that my 3d printer, despite all of the things that can go wrong, is somehow more reliable than any 2d printer i have ever owned in my life (4 and counting!)

added a basic mission list (dummy data for now), and i finally added some ambient rolling noise to the ball as well :) #godotengine #wip

Apparently the Dig Dug / Mr. Driller film adaptation didn't do well this weekend. Probably needed more Pookas. Hoping the Mr. Do movies perform better.

i think conditional clamping is the best approach here, so i made it so that any body with a specific meta tag, if colliding with, will disable Y velocity clamping this is probably inelegant (since if you have a LOT of bodies this check might tank performance on weaker hardware) but it works kinda!

every time i go to work on my godot pinball thing, i remember "oh yeah i have to refactor all of my physics stuff" ball too heavy? flippers are useless now! ball too light? can go *over* the flippers! try to clamp Y movement? ramps are impossible now! make the clamp conditional? wack edge cases!
