โœจ My new library gpuix-svelte is out! Build native desktop apps for macOS, Windows and Linux using Svelte and gpui, a Rust-powered graphics engine. Excited to see what you build! #svelte #native gpuix-svelte.stanislav.garden

gpuix-svelte.stanislav.gardengpuix-svelte: Build native desktop apps with SvelteA Svelte renderer for native desktop apps on macOS, Windows and Linux. GPUI, the UI framework behind the Zed editor, draws them, with no DOM or webview.

I gotta hop on this wagon. Svelte all the way

Haha, top 5 ๐Ÿงก. Also svelte svelte svelte. Need to keep up my daily quota.

Amongst everything I do with AI I'm extremely glad I don't use American AI models, I haven't touched those in over a year now.

If you'd like to contribute to an oss project, don't focus on creating PRs. Help the maintainers triage issues and review existing PRs. Test beta releases, and give feedback about new APIs and features. Join the community and be around to help others. They need your care way more than your code now.

One things I definitely love that I did this year was setting up howdy on my Linux, now I can use face id to do sudo. Crazy fun...

I'm done with the migration to sveltekit 3, took ~ 3 mins, that was the smoothest migration I have done, I have to say the sveltekit team really outdid themselves with the migration script; almost took all the fun out from debugging after a migration. Guess I now have more time to do ui improvements

Michael@svelte-apps.me

I will be migrating svelte-apps.me to sveltekit 3 over the weekend. Just putting this here to hold myself to it. Let's see how it goes ๐Ÿ˜ Considering how much work I have in my service worker, this is gonna be a doozy

Wait do people really just keep their system on for days on end running agents and sub agents or am I just really behind...

remember that they sold reddit posts to openAI for training data they donโ€™t want you to have free data if they can sell it, they think they own all user generated content on there

Manton Reece@manton.org

Reddit announced they are winding down RSS feeds: "Because RSS is now a common surface for large-scale scraping and automated abuse, weโ€™ll stop supporting RSS feeds on November 13, 2026 while preserving moderation workflows that depend on it through supported alternatives." Just another silo.

Prompt an AI to "Take the last 5 years of the US news and history and a bit of the world news too and write a summary, make it sound like a movie intro". The answers are ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿ˜‚

Been looking at that Open Executive GitHub and gotta say, it's pretty dystopian trying to replace a whole company of people with just AI. Anyways from a developer standpoint I was even more appalled by the code and how convoluted it was. I'm ending up rewriting the whole thing from py to TS

Today has been crazy. I don't know if building faster means we're being more productive or just building more things faster...

I just installed Howdy on my PC and it was a pain to debug; error after error, even with AI. Normally that fix just dies in that one chat. Next time it's hell again. Glad I built Sepia so it remembers across any model or chat ๐Ÿ˜… https://sepia.svelte-apps.me

Shipped Aghara MCP v0.1.3 today โ€” fixed the bug where gateways sent array args as JSON strings. If you hit stringified array errors, update and it just works.

Looking forward to turning on payments for Aghara soon. Creator and Pro will finally be live โ€” been wanting to get this out for a while. More once it is open.

Got tired of the Lemon Squeezy issues so I moved Aghara billing to a different setup. Rebuilt the whole flow โ€” initialize, webhook, the lot. Feels good to own it again.

At the start of 2024 i set myself the goal of sharing my work/experiments/learnings more (or at all). That was one of the rare (for me) new years resolutions that worked out quite well: my repositories got almost 400 stars over the last year, which is obvs not a lot compared to other people, but...

So are we all just having a million things to review each day while our own agents produce code at the same time that we then gift as PRs to our coworkers for them to review? Have we traded the craft of engineering away for this sisyphean chore? Is this it?

It was hard enough to get humans to write code that was legible/understandable by humans. "But it doesn't matter, Kyle! Get over it!" Tell that to my queue of PRs to review. You'd think we'd be able to make the simplest code now easily, and it's just getting worse.

Finally switched my wm to Niri (in part due to looking at which parts of the ecosystem were so far staying away from DHH's crusade to reshape the community). Niri is REALLY good, especially for what is AFAICT a passion project! Deserves attention and grassroots sponsorship. github.com/niri-wm/niri
