Just a bizarre top end of the list. Parks and Rec at #50, 30 Rock as the best comedy of the 21st century at #8? Fleabag at #5? Game of Thrones at #6? Girls at #13? White Lotus at #21? Black Mirror at #26? And I loved Succession, but #4?

In a 2 party system politics can sometimes be very simple. Saying “don’t vote for the Democrat in the general election” reduces to “I want to help the Republican win.” There’s no other practical interpretation of the sentence.

Some people think that voting is nothing but a personal expression of beliefs and identity. These people are not serious about politics.

This Day in Labor History: August 20, 1977. The Grunwick Strike began. At the same time that the British union movement really began embracing immigrants, it faced the rise of the anti-union Margaret Thatcher. This strike made her more famous and marked the decline of British unionism. Sad stuff.

Democrats who care about climate need to start acting like Republicans who care about tax cuts for the wealthy and be honest with themselves about the electorate in the same way rich Republicans are honest with themselves and lie to the electorate.

It's worth noting that AIPAC's total contribution to Moss's campaign was literally $1,000...out of over $1.5 million total raised, or 0.067%. Farooqi used this to smear him as an "Israel first, AIPAC powered" candidate. Oh yeah...he happens to be Jewish, quelle surprise.
