New #promosky for 2026 ๐Ÿ˜Œ Hey, I'm Finn! I like to play games of all shapes and sizes and love to share and see the love for them here on Bsky. I also have a cute dog named Mio ๐Ÿ• Below are some of my main games / series, but I dabble in plenty of others. Always happy to meet friendly new moots! ๐Ÿ˜„

Despite the sad Bioware news from yesterday, one bright note is that modders have found a way to add the amazing multiplayer mode from ME3 into the Legendary Edition, fixing my one problem with it ๐Ÿ˜„ I spent hundreds of hours on this, and will gladly spend a few more.

There's proper matchmaking and some extra additions like an FoV slider which is very nice. Multiplayer modes in single player games felt sort of common in the PS3 / 360 days, and most felt pretty tacked on for the sake of it. But ME3's multiplayer is a genuinely fun and unique way to play the game.

This is such a gut punch. I love Dragon Age, but Mass Effect especially means so much to me. I'm too stunned to be able to say much more, other than fuck EA.

BioWare statement

As someone who appreciates a good videogame soundtrack, I cannot express enough how well Ace Combat 8 uses its music to elevate every single moment. The ways they tie it in with the moment to moment gameplay is really impressive, it contributes so much to the experience. Beautiful game.

Pulling myself away from Fire Emblem and Ace Combat tonight for my very first Castlevania game - now that's real character growth!

Finished Onimusha the other night and have been thinking about it since. Combat was incredibly satisfying but I wish the rest of the game matched its quality. I'll definitely turn up for a sequel, I think there was a lot of wasted potential here and I'd love to see them have another stab at it.

Tried the demo for At Fate's End and this game immediately wants you to know that yeah, it has the sauce

I've played WoW on and off (mostly off) since Mists of Pandaria and would say I've never been super into it, but even without the nostalgia I am down bad to jump into WoW Forever. Craving a chonky MMO and seeing beta gameplay is only getting me more excited.

I (meal lv 3) really (temple service) love (arena training) Fire (meal lv 3) Emblem (gift) Fortune's (watch theatre performance) Weave (meal lv 3) despite (bathe) some (perfect bird time) annoyances (weekly actions are available again).

Hello Bsky friends, been a while ๐Ÿ˜‰ I'm back from a Japan trip + some extra time to catch up on life stuff, so you'll start seeing me around again. Looking forward to seeing what everyone's been up to!

I didn't get around to posting any Tokyo Game Show pics because the day I was due to go was cancelled because of a typhoon. Unfortunate but the rest of the trip more than made up for it! Incredibly cool place, even more so as a giganerd. 2 weeks of being constantly astounded.

I've been fairly inactive here lately, just due to life stuff being a bit busy. But I hope everyone's enjoying the crazy September release season responsibly (or otherwise) so far! Going to be on holiday from tomorrow so probably still mostly quiet, but I'll try post some pics from TGS! ๐ŸŽฎ

Only managed to play a couple of hours of Orbitals last night, but what I did get to experience was class. Every frame is art, mechanics are simple but fun and I just adore all the little touches sprinkled throughout. Already can't wait to play more tonight!

A sneaky lil' pre-vacation Some Loose Scraps! In this one, I reflect on GTA VI's Extended Look and the one thing I really hope Rockstar nails, talk about why a moment in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy made me think of The Lion King, and more ๐Ÿ‘‡

I came VERY close to Googling whether I'd made the right choices in Pentiment. I hated not knowing. But I also knew that Googling it would ruin exactly what the game was so successfully doing to me: making me feel as uncomfortable as the protagonist. HEAVY spoilers ahead ๐Ÿ‘‡

bornformedia.comPentiment Made Me Question Every ChoicePentiment made me question every choice, accusation and lead I pursued. Here's how Obsidian turned uncertainty into one of the game's greatest strengths.

Nioh 3 done, solid game! I was a bit weary of the enemy roster feeling so similar to the first 2 games, and I don't think being open-world really added much in this instance. But the combat remains incredibly gratifying to succeed in, and I loved some of the new additions like Ninja stance.

Its crazy how far handhelds have come that a tiny little tablet like the Switch 2 can fairly competently run a whole ass premium MMO. Still regularly blows my mind what this thing can do. Anyways, back to enjoying the summer party vibes ๐ŸŽ‰

The heat is on its way back and I need a new Switch game, so I'm jumping on the Fire Emblem replay bandwagon a month late ๐Ÿ˜… Will be a nice refresher ahead of Fortune's Weave, I want to go into that all clued up because it looked incredible in the recent Direct.

Our independent gaming site, Pixel Byte, celebrated its third anniversary over the weekend. Took the time to write about what this milestone means to me and the successes we have had so far. For now, I just want to express my sincerest gratitude to anyone who has ever supported our work.

pixelbytegaming.comPixel Byte: Celebrating Three Years of Game CoveragePixel Byte just celebrated 3 years of covering video games, big and small. Here are a few thoughts on what it means for us and the future.

House of the Dragon season 3 was incredibly good. I enjoyed the second season well enough but this felt like a huge step up, I don't think there was one episode I didn't love this time around. Really glad we continue to get amazing series in this world, outside of Game of Thrones.

Onto the next adventure and I'm super excited for this one, although I probably wouldn't have believed you if you told me I'd play 3 Nioh games in the span of 6 months this year. Shoutout to the ๐Ÿ @hananomaude.bsky.social for being such a vocal fan for the series and inspiring me to dive in!

I finally decided to go through and organise my Steam library and no nope nuh-uh don't look at that backlog number nosiree

Finished Assassins Creed Resynced today and while it grew on me and I enjoyed it overall, there were a few stretches where I really wasn't having a great time. Funnily enough, it actually made me respect the modern AC entries more for some of the areas they have improved on over time. ๐Ÿงต

I don't recall movement being quite as bad in Shadows. So much of the time though in Black Flag I'd end up stuck, or jump somewhere I never meant to, or wouldn't be able to jump somewhere that I clearly should be able to. It unfortunately turned good level design into a chore in some instances.

Lastly while I'm on my soapbox, the game was just incredibly buggy even by AC standards. As a remaster, I wish it were more polished. I want to point out there's a lot to love about the game, like the story and characters - it's just not the slam dunk that nostalgia had led me to believe it was!

I also got annoyed by unclear telegraphing. In this clip you see me take a hit from an enemy that struck from offscreen without any warning (maybe it's intended so that you stay more aware of your surroundings). But then an enemy winds up a blockable attack and switches last-second to unblockable ๐Ÿซ

There's more I could go on about but the gist of it is I never enjoyed entering a combat encounter which is sad ๐Ÿ˜” My second annoyance... Movement: For a series that's all about parkour, man does it feel clunky and awful to control Edward in this game.

There were two standout areas of regular frustration for me: Combat: I really dislike the combat in this game. A lot of its nuances aren't really explained clearly and rely on you reading a contextual pop up window in the middle of combat to know how to combat certain enemies effectively.
