Qwen 3.8 27b is so stupid. Ignores clear instructions. Obliterates its context with unneeded/inefficient tool calls. I love playing with open models and I'm not expecting Sonnet 5.5 level reasoning with a Q5_K_M quant on 24GB VRAM. Still, it's barely usable. Can't imagine letting it code for real.

My prediction: AI will move us there soon! UIs, dashboards, and reports won't go away; they'll be generated on the fly for *each* user interaction. Software engineering effort will instead focus on what remains fairly static: infra, data models, tool/API capabilities, and authorization boundaries.

One of the things that frustrates me about possibly using "skills" developed by others: I have *dozens* of repositories, both at work and at home. I don't have time to install, scaffold, conform, customize, and maintain them all.

How do I get around this? A common repository (personal: git, work: an MCP-native wiki I built), and minimal instructions in each repo on how to get to it. Anything I want to propogate everywhere goes there. Exceptions go in CLAUDE.md. Nothing goes into memory, EVER, because I have multiple machines

I was able to replace Home Assistant completely this weekend in both my house and my camper -- mostly background window work. Migrated history, fixed some ZWave and MQTT issues, and added some useful custom sensors. Way easier to maintain. #Claude is the best $20 a month I've spent in a LONG time.

We’ve MOVED!!! Please find us this year on-playa at 6:00 & Eternal! (That’s on the straight street, not the curved one) Open 1-3pm Monday - Saturday and 5-7pm Monday - Friday We are also accepting new campers! We’re small, fun, inclusive, and newbie-friendly #burningman #brc

One more reason I listen to metal. It is almost always on the right side of history.

We have a great locationat #BurningMan this year, C & 5:45! Be sure to come spin our wheel 🎡! And if you’re looking for a camp, we have room! See our site and get it touch if we’re a vibe match!

I’m so tired of Entergy Texas’ fucking bullshit. We’ve had power outages EVERY WEEK for over a month. We’re in the middle of a city, not out in the sticks.

I'm 50, and for the first time in my life, I have no living grandparents. She lived to be 90yo and we knew this was coming, but it's still a shock. RIP Grandma. Oh, and #fuckparkinsons

I'm absolutely fascinated by this tool that lets you build wireframes using text elements, ASCII art style. I've seen wireframes in excel, powerpoint, on paper, but this is a first. Still, it's actually quite efficient and exportable. Love it! wiretext.app/

After Trump is gone, I will never forget or forgive the Republican cowards who enabled this malignant narcissist because their power was more important than the well-being of their constituents.

I'm starting to understand why men 40+ give up trying to have a social life and become hermits with their families at home. This world is made for people who already have friends. Once those are lost by having kids, death, moving, new job, politics, etc., finding new ones is damned near impossible.

Project Hail Mary is a beautiful movie adaptation of a great book. I wasn’t sure they could match The Martian in capturing the vibe of Weir’s science-forward writing while properly pacing the scenes. They did. I’ll be shocked if Ryan and the Rocketeers and the wardrobe team don’t win big.

#ClaudeAI has a serious feature gap for ChatGPT converts: the ability to refer back to previous conversations. I'm working to migrate away from ChatGPT, but I have a ton of long-running personal projects (home repair, automation, art, personal web sites, etc.) that each span multiple conversations.

Conversations *should* be independent. Need a tight context. But if I specifically *ask* it to look back at related conversations, it should. I thought "Projects" would help, but even there, Claude says it can't pull context from other conversations.

In coding contexts, Claude is a beast. But this is making me feel stuck. I need a long-term brain partner, not just a bot to throw questions at.

Using "memory" would be too sparse -- it won't recall technical details, attempts/failures, etc. Using a git repo with folders/files for projects won't work, because I'm often using my phone. (Maybe /rc would help there but has serious limits.)

IMHO, #Block is doing it wrong. Companies should not be chopping dev staff or expecting AI to immediately drive down cost. Instead, they should wait and see which devs use LLMs to generate production-ready, coherent code/artifacts that improve internal bottlenecks and user experience.

DEAR CLAUDE, You hereby have permission to make ANY CHANGE, as long as it is: 1. In the current repository. 2. Not a destructive git command. GO DO THINGS! I don't want to come back after lunch and see 20 minutes of wasted time waiting for me to answer if you can use "sed" #Anthropic #ClaudeCode

No one can deny Mayor Mamdani is a gifted orator. Really hope his skill in pulling and pushing the slow levers of government beaurocracy matches his vibes.

another trvth nvke: that bubblewrap isn't applied just to dick and boob. unequal application of that happens to anything vaguely controversial for kids, including if your shit has been mentioned in a sentence with Gender Ideology or Orientation before www.brookings.edu/articles/chi...

Is anyone on the #OpenAI, #Claude, or #Gemini teams active here? While not as popular as X, the people running this platform aren’t Epstein’s buddies, and unlike at X, AT protocol content can inform your future models. Please stop forcing devs to sign into that hellscape just to get your AI tips.

I have *not* seen Starfleet Academy yet. Waiting for a few more episodes to have a proper binge. Sounds promising! In my head canon, it’s gonna be like Space Academy (the movie) or the Discovery episode “All is Possible” with Tilly and the cadets. Maybe I’m wrong on that, time will tell!

Idea for Tony Gilroy's next Star Wars TV series that bridges the gap between RotJ and Force Awakens. It's basically the story of how the rebel alliance fails to prosecute or punish the Empire for anything they did during the original series, including blowing up planets.

Being a middle-aged, neurodivergent, basically-sober, liberal man in a super-red area sucks. Happily married, two great little kids, but no social life.

There should be a Star Trek show for a ship other than the Enterprise, where nothing ever tries to destroy the ship, they just explore and play on the holodeck and deal with minor inconveniences of living with 1000 strangers on a tin can in deep space.

it's time for journos to start asking Johnson meta questions "Speaker, on 5 occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about news events w/big implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker to be so woefully uninformed?"

Once this Administration is over, we need to have a *serious* conversation about new Constitutional amendments to ensure future Presidents can't play God based on questionable legal technicalities and the cowardice and calloused hand-washing of a partisan Congress and Court.

Went to the Beaumont Comic Con with the fam. Better than expected: Trek sets, local booths, some cosplayers’ garb Room for improvement: not just promoting on Meta, less 3D print slop sales, more food, contests too late in the day If you don’t support local events, they won’t survive!

Remember: the *first* thing you notice about the people you meet today — their age, gender, disability, race, etc. — is the *least* interesting thing about them. Engage openly and dig deep!
