New on NOTCHES: The Log Books by Tash Walker & Adam Zmith. Drawing on log books from Londonโs LGBT+ Switchboard, Walker & Zmith uncover fascinating queer life stories in the everyday concerns, fears, desires, and acts of resilience recorded by volunteers in the 70s-90s. Link wp.me/p6JJ6S-4XY
Recording the hidden River Fleet, one of Londonโs 20 ghost rivers, flowing beneath streets built over it. Lowering my recorder into a drain, the river suddenly roared to life, a reminder that nature persists, even when we've buried it beneath concrete. Listening closely to hear what it has to say.

I wish he had been there. I went for John but then Adam talked about what he called 'violence of silence' of Section 28. I hadn't really thought about how it affected me, a queer teen during the AIDS crisis with no support from teachers etc. Always felt less impacted than older folks. But I was.
