Welp, I was considering doing a short stream today, but there's no power to the room I stream from, possibly due to some ongoing construction work, though it shouldn't have impacted power at all. I've been starting some work on Beziers and other curves, to make a simple font for some digits.

Twitch keeps jumpscaring me with gore, in ads for horror movies that pop up outside of scheduled ad breaks, every few minutes. The video player suddenly shrinks to make room for an ad on the side, and then BAM, gore or other disturbing imagery. I finally managed to figure out how to report one 😰

I feel strange having to say this, but: 1) Someone respectfully disagreeing with someone else doesn't mean they're attacking that person, and 2) Just because you disagree with someone, doesn't mean you have to attack them. Please be kind. Tear down the billionaires, not each other.

To give slightly more context, someone posted with advice to be cautious, and someone quote posted with additional relevant info, still advising caution. Someone in the replies to the quote post interpreted this as the quote poster attacking the first poster, and I was baffled 🤔

Let's see if Bluesky supports animated PNG files, now that I've got my code for reading and writing them working! This is my wave emote as a first test. @captocie.bsky.social made the static version and kindly let me animate it.

Contrary to what Discord says, you can tell whether a PNG file is animated or not without reading any pixel data, so there's not much excuse for them to not add animated PNG support.

Today was Canadian Thanksgiving, and I'm so thankful for everyone out there being kind to each other and doing what you can to make the world a better place. I know it's tough, and sometimes all you can do is survive, but in a world that often wants us out of it, survival is defiance 💜

Linux enthusiasts, I know you have an unhealthy obsession with the command line, but please, try using Linux without the command line, and you'll quickly discover how incredibly broken and unusable it is. I hate Windows, I want to switch to Linux, and I know how to use the command line,

After writing a lot of stressful emails, I don't think I'll have the spoons to stream today, but at least I've set things up to multi-stream to altstream.online, so hopefully my 100th Twitch stream will be my 1st Altstream stream! Looking forward to trying out a platform that's against A.I. 💜

Installed LibreOffice. First pptx file I open shows at least 2 bugs (text glow is applied to the underline squiggle for a word not in the dictionary; temporary rendering artifact on soft edges), and several missing features, (text outline, 3D rotation, 3D bevel, reflection, drop shadow).
