Evangelical Christian fundamentalism is why Brazil just might elect Flavio Bolsonario, a far-right traitor to the nation. Non-religious people *must* do much better at community and mutual aid. This is a global problem. Fascism's chief tool is religious delusions. archive.is/jkFDJ

This supercut is likely to make Trump VERY upset. The difference between Trump and Obama is on full display, and the contrast is absolutely devastating. Watch until the end...

PS: Pic has an example of overdosing on Murc's Law. Not only is it contrary to the facts to suppose that every Trump voter knew that he is racist and is accused of sex crimes, you can't win w/this message. @upine.bsky.social has been very patient trying to explain this, but to no avail.

The GOP has nothing left but loathsomeness. Vivek Ramaswamy showed us that. Trump shows us it every day. My column on a party with zero ideas and zero accomplishments:

It would be good if we could get reporters to put these numbers in some context. They ALL know that none of their readers has a clue as to the size of millions, billions, and trillions, but they refuse to take the 10 seconds needed to put them in a context that could make them meaningful.

The "wins above replacement" strategy is a bundle of delusions wrapped in numbers. Left parties win when they are bold and articulate constantly. They lose when they are timorous and poll-bound. Democrats already have popular policies. The missing ingredient is enthusiastic communication.

Great reminder you should be way less careful and confident with predictions on what the environment will look like and how races will develop

The inability of the 117th Congress & Biden admin to hold the first Trump regime accountable for corruption, maladministration during a pandemic, attempted auto coup, conspiracy to defraud the people, & inciting insurrection is the worst accountability failure in U.S. history. Dems must use power.

FWIW, I refer to this as "closing the hardball gap." It's the idea that asymmetric adherence to norms is itself destablizing, and that norm-breaking can/should be done in democracy's defense. This is a bit dated but it gets at the basic point:

I write about California Forever in "The Nerd Reich." It fits a pattern:billionaires trying to build private cities. We see this idea popping up in Honduras, in Greenland, in Venezuela, in Cuba, in Kazakhstan, and in the ruins of the Gaza genocide. www.techpolicy.press/trumps-gaza-...

It is remarkable how many Dems in competitive races are not doing the squishy bipartisanship tapioca routine and are instead just letting rip with these guys are a bunch of evil goddamned nazis who want to take all your rights and are also corrupt as fuck. It’s reading the room, I suppose.

That's the problem, Mike. It's not just that you've hired half the Third Reich to staff your Congressional office, and you have promoted neo-Nazi content online, it's that you're robbing your constituents to subsidize your donors.
