I am having a morning where I’m not getting responses to emails and texts immediately, which must indicate that everyone finds me and my ideas incredibly annoying.

Not only that, but receiving a written apology in a milieu where the primary communication is via enormous signs held up behind his head. Indiana’s going to make 1,000 paper planes that say “we’re vewwwy sowwy 😢” and whip them at the stage.

incredible strategic error by Pat McAfee to reveal he is deeply bothered by relatively mild mockery from college students despite a key component of his job being "standing on a stage in front of college students for 3 hours a week"

That should solve it. Teens are known for seeing a sniveling apology and getting on board.

My brain just convinced my dumb sleeping body that there was a prestige TV show called symbols where a fake civilization would rise, discover that they were a big Truman Show/Westword, and then collapse, and do it all again. My dream brain convinced me I was (had been?) binging this thing.

I had both my wife and therapist tell me that running for alderman was a terrible idea, but there’s still no one running against this numbnuts.

Contests w/o competition: Robinson (4) Chico (10) Lee (11) ... long sigh... Lopez (15) Mosley (21) Bahena (22) Fuentes (26) Nugent (39) Vasquez (40) Napolitano (41) Martin (47) Silverstein (50) 24% of the next City Council is essentially seated already

Lions and Packers in a weird one and, at the same time, Brazil heard “TERRAIN TERRAIN: PULL UP” and DID SO?? Hell of a Sunday.

Some people don’t like singing “Don’t Stop Believing” going into the 4th quarter. Those people don’t know the rush of vibing for 7/8 of the tune and deciding to suddenly go full out on the falsetto “NIIIIIIIIGHT” and scaring some lady a section over.

I gather that no one playing college football is very good… unless… there was a cat with a really good screenplay idea … who was up at 4 AM… drawing up offensive plays out of a modified flexbone…

PJ Fleck is going to make a Voltron of trophies and become more powerful than you can possibly imagine

A funny thing about Chip Kelly’s Operation Mincemeat offense is that Northwestern won 42-14, and I had the thought, without irony, “huh, really didn’t try very hard in the 3rd quarter.”

NEW POST: Pat Fitzgerald and Northwestern Hurl Themselves Off The Reichenbach Falls Into a Giant Toilet. The operatic Omnirevenge Michigan State game is a dramatic morass of punts and fake punts, Schiano as the Piscataway Rasputin, another short story, and more

Playing the "what is the Mount Rushmore of (x)" game is much more fun if you think of it not as the four best things in that category, but as the things that are the equivalent of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt in that category.

Let’s try another topic! (CFB coaches in the thread)

My child is apparently stealthy enough to get this from her bedroom into our bedroom, without waking us up. (I didn’t notice until I went back upstairs for my book, and got quite a jump scare on the way out.)

The Long Snapper, Holder, and Kicker Run Around Demanding Civilians Make An Impromptu Field Goal genre remains undefeated. (Also showing off the Library Gothics)
