If y'all want to backup git repos, look into "git bundle" (built into git) This won't backup non-git data (issues, PRs / MRs, topics, etc), but it's better than nothing.

Increasing the file size doesn't matter since the app still has image upload issues

v1.121 is live! We've increased the quality of photos in posts by doubling the max file size to 2MB and the resolution limit to 4000x4000. Plus, posts with multiple photos now appear in a carousel so you can show off your photography in all its glory.

I recommend making posts with images using an alternative client if image quality and/or dimensions are important for your content until this gets fixed.

There's a pretty big issue with the snap release of Obsidian. I'm switching to the AppImage release for now.

americans: whenever you see a turbotax advertisement, never let yourself forget that turbotax and companies like it are WHY we have to file taxes like we do in the first place.

Why don't more devices support DisplayPort Dual-mode? If HDMI licensing fees are a problem, wouldn't it make sense to slowly shift users away from the HDMI port.

I (unfortunately) can't switch to Linux because: - Linux doesn't have On-Demand Cloud Storage - Wine doesn't support WinTab or Windows Ink - Proton doesn't support some games I like (minor) - LibreOffice isn't as polished as MS Office (minor)

Windows has "Cloud Files API". Apple (macOS and iOS) has "File Provider". Android has "DocumentsProvider". Linux has nothing. I use "On-Demand Files" all the time (Personal NAS), so this is the main blocker from me using Linux as a daily driver

Heavenly and Kirkwood only post condition updates on X / Twitter. I'm a bit surprised that they didn't set up any alternatives, but oh well.

Synology QuickConnect relies on Let's Encrypt for direct and regional wildcard certs, but the company isn't listed as an ISRG sponsor. It feels scummy to build a commercial product that depends on a nonprofit service like Let's Encrypt and not financially support it.

atproto aha moments: - you can host your data - it's just json - it's typed but any app dev can invent those types - records have URIs - records are signed so cacheable without trust - relay aggregates everyone’s events into a global stream - backends subscribe to relay and update local DBs

You are up to date.
