you know what, i think i'm going to make an effort to comment on art more, even if its just "yes". i used to be like, ugh, say something more than "lol" or "YEAH" but you know what? i actually like when people give me any comment at all too. so i may as well say YES if my reaction was positive. :>

a very weird experience of privately kinning something (just a type of bug, nothing canon or popular) and then you see three or four other artists start drawing it... this happens to me a lot... i don't get angry or upset as much anymore but it does feel really strange that it happens over and over?

what would my therapisit say? she would ask what i would say to a friend who said that. and to them i would probably say that you never have to make a reference for a character really, and also that fluid morphing and variable qualities is kind of something i Always Do anyway. so i dunno

LINUX UPDATE. i decided to stop waiting, and deleted my windows install entirely x> my therapist said i "need more 'fuck it' in [my] life" and she's 100% right. this has been a year of trying new things and it's the next step in growth i think. thanks to those who helped. yay yayayyyy

hey internet, can krita stand up to clip studio paint for digital -painting-, like color-smushy type? any of my people out there have experience with both? krita is fine for sketching, but i'm not seeing the right kind of brushes or settings for really -painting- the way i like yet. am i missing it?

i did go back to FA specifically to support a website that got me lifelong friends. my oldest account is from 2007. my new account is 2026. the site has not changed, in a good way. i don't like everything about it, and obviously i have my issues with the fandom, but they deserve my five dollars.

gourd how i wish i could participate, but it's not in the cards for me this time. any of my local friends know anyone?? hook 'em up!

Calling all PA (esp. PGH!!) artists! The Society for Integrative & Comparative Biology & SaS are inviting 6 artists to join us for the annual SICB meeting Jan. 3-7 in Pittsburgh! We want to bridge a connection btw scientists & artists & have some of our science illustrated. Deets: bit.ly/sicb-art

krita feels really weird. i'm just playing around with it for now; i really prefer CSP on my android tablet. it's good to know i CAN draw on "My Linux" (my laptop) as google keeps wanting to call it, but boy does it feel funky and strange... i already remade my shrimb brush though, and that helped
