Many big #publishers in #book publishing seem to be trying to wet their toes: www.forbes.com/sites/rashis... If you want to have #writers create #books without having it all fed to #AI companies before it's even released, please speak up. Even if you're a #reader or #booktok reviewer or such.

Seen near Holborn Station, on the route of the Unite the Kingdom rally. When the scapegoats are gone, the borders are fortified, and the hatred has done its damage, the cost of living will still rise, the NHS will still be dying, and corporate vultures will still be picking our lives apart.

Cuba has run out of diesel and fuel oil and is enduring some of the worst blackouts in decades because of the US’s cruel oil blockade. This failed policy needs to end immediately. Every day, we are contributing to immense suffering in Cuba and a worsening humanitarian crisis.

In mid 2026, the EU apparently wants most not-low-risk discussion platforms (so is that all of them, beyond social media?) to start strict age checks: digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/library/c... Don't ask me why not everyone is talking about this... I don't know.

I might be misreading, but the EU-wide verification seems to already have been decided: bsky.app/profile/that... As per already released guidance that is scheduled to become mandatory in mid 2026. Somehow, I have seen pretty much zero press about it. #EU #surveillance #privacy

We cannot and should not let generative AI take away these tiny, insignificant, but probably fun as hell jobs from artists
