The elections are on next Tuesday, and so much is at stake, including the soul of the Democratic Party when it comes to transgender people. I am asking you to leave a very small number of races blank in which a Democrat has embraced extreme anti-trans hate. I make my case here.

Anti-trans Democrats are spreading poison when we can least afford it, during elections in this ongoing fascist takeover. As a strategy, it’s a recipe for failure. As a moral stand, it’s reprehensible. PS I’m the father of young trans woman and I’ll never forgive anyone who makes her life harder.

Parties have always faced tradeoffs, like between swing voters and activists in the base. But the consultant class isn’t a tradeoff. It’s, to use an econ concept, rent extraction You’re being asked to sacrifice to save democracy. We’re just saying that the consultants should too.

This is exactly the right approach — openly mock the bigots as small-minded and cowardly and weak and proudly embrace diversity as a sign of our strength and success

Also, Abdul is constantly "showing gratitude", talking about he's "a story that can only happen in America" and the opportunities he was afforded growing up in the US he wouldn't have had in Egypt. He's more patriotic than Vance has ever been.

If you're a Dem who thinks you'll gain something by going anti-trans, look at Gallup's "most important problem" and Fox News' "most important issue" polling and see where trans issues rank. Whoever told you going anti-trans is a savvy or necessary move spends too much time on X and should be fired.

weirdly enough it also has plenty of trans folks who live there, and people who love and support them, just like every other state in the country. the ohio democratic party are absolute garbage and have been losing elections for years and doing this will not win them more.

Maybe people will begin to see how insulting it is to be told “you don’t matter, you have to vote how we want you to vote because you don’t have any good choices.” Try being the person being told that and see how motivated you are to vote for the “lesser of two evils.”

Also, just being purely cold heartedly practical, Labour in the UK did this and it’s turned out horrific and did not help their polling, and has also only emboldened the far-right to became even more extreme in their transphobia. Compromising with bigots doesn’t help!
