IMO, both Starmer's recognition that migration is part of Britain's national story, and the warning that without more control "we risk becoming an island of strangers, not a nation that walks forward together" does a pretty good job of capturing where most Brits are on immigration.

They never had a plan. They just lied and lied and lied. Both Brexit and Immigration are the most dishonest and ruinous policies going. A Tory/Farage conspiracy of deceit that Labour seems to want to protect rather than challenge. As for Chris Philp - get in the bin. news.sky.com/story/leaked...

Shadow Chancellor Mel Stride says the leaked recording of Chris Philp, of him admitting the UK can't return asylum seekers to Europe post-Brexit (despite promises made at the time), is just "blindingly obvious". Well, yeah. But it wasn't made blindingly obvious to those who voted Leave, was it?

On a normal day, I would expect @mrjamesob.bsky.social to be talking about Philps latest exposed tape....but no. He is now full on attacking Keir Starmer again. Since his aggressive refusal to defend his colleague Sanghita Myska it feels like he has been "got at". Yet again I sigh and switch over.

I am so bloody angry right now. Starmer has been rebuilding the relationship with the EU for years. Long before he became PM. Negotiations on the Brexit deal are due to start in May! Of course this is happening behind closed doors...

Bear with me. Is Starmer acting as a bridge for Ukraine and Europe to try to keep Trump especially after that awful attack by Trump on Zelenskyy in the Whitehouse from escalating?

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Starmer will not sacrifice our standards for a US deal. He will not compromise our NHS for a deal. There isn't a deal to be had the UK would want. He is waiting for Trump to fail and preparing for the fallout. Criminal behaviour is something he is experienced at dealing with

Good grief. Hillary you must have started something. But like everything else they touch they somehow manage to take it to a whole new level in the proverbial third basement. Gmail for heavens sake.

Labour’s new Rental bill. Banning no fault evictions Landlord must carry out essential repairs in good time. No sealed bids for new renters. Reasonable right? The Tories will vote against it. Shadow Tory housing minister has been meeting with major landlords to try and stop the bill?

Of course, anti terrorism officers are investigating the fire. This doesn't mean it was an act of terrorism. It means that possibility is being explored as all avenues must be. Calm down.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I have a slightly daft, very dark conspiracy theory I am fostering in my tiny brain. What if the very, very wealthy understand climate change all too well? What if they are planning for the aftermath already? What if it is real and actually far worse than we could imagine?
